This hop flavor and aroma of the truly American cascade hop distinguishes this beer.

Pours golden with a fully receding off-white head. Aroma of mild grapefruit, lightly acidic, green hop leaf. Taste is grainy (in a good way), lightly acidic, and lightly hoppy. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with full carbonation. Good beer from a pitiful beer state.

This was my favorite out of the 4 Palmetto Beers that I’ve tried on my trip to Charleston. Had it both on tap and in the bottle. Preferred the bottle on this one. amber/copper colored. beautiful lacing on every one I had. Malt sweetness is controlled by a West Coast floral hop aroma. resembles an IPA. This is a great refreshing American Pale Ale.

Bottle. Pours orange gold with rocky white head. The aroma is subtle and clean fruity hops. The flavor is mellow fruity hops, honeydew, and some candy sweetness. It gets only a little bit dry in the finish. Very refreshing.

I think perhaps each beer I have from Palmetto gets a little better. The pale ale is very nicely bittered with a grapefruit profile that is very satisfying. The taste is fairly well balanced with hops and malts and it finishes very clean. This is a decent beer that I will have to seek out if I ever find myself lost in South Carolina.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange/copper with a nice, lasting white head. The aroma is crisp and herbal with strong notes of marijuana and pine with a bit of caramel. The hops certainly are in the foreground of the flavor providing a sturdy grapefruit, pine bitterness which is rather drying. The malts are thin, but do balance things out a bit with some caramel sweetness. The finish is quite acidic, almost lemony, and really leaves a lingering burn. Considering APA to be such an unpredictable style, this one really establishes itself as a worthy brew. I now consider Palmetto to be one of the more reliable breweries in South Carolina.

12 oz bottle via DecaturoStevo(thanks!). Pours a hazy amber orange with a VERY SMALL white head. Nose is floral and has notes of grapefruit, grass, pine. Tastes like it smells and is quite hoppy gor a Pale Ale. Malts are there for a second but are pretty subdued. Crisp clean grapefruit finish with a touch of lemon in the aftertaste. Very nice hoppy refreshing beer.

Bottle: Poured a lightly hazed amber color with a thin off-white head. Light citrus hop aroma with big malt and an earthy finish. The flavor was citrusy and mildly acidic from the hops. Caramel malt flavors. Decent hop finish

Delivered to my refrigerator from SC (thanks J!). What a pleasant surprise. I hadn’t read anything about it, but loved the amber color and nice foam head. Mostly malt in the nose, with a hint of hops that hits you a bit more as you begin to sip through the foam. Mouthful is rich with just a tickle/hint of carbonation. Taste is malt and hops and carmel and a touch of citrus-like hops flavor that adds an incredibly delicate tartness. Amazing balance--and yet each taste comes in and out in turn. And yet there is nothing about it that is "in your face" (e.g., highly hopped). And they list ingredients on the bottle as nothing but water, yeast, hops and malted barley. No tricks (adjuncts, additives, etc.). Just pure quality taste. I loved it. The slightly bitter aftertaste is phenomenal. Makes you want to pick up the glass again and again. Easily one of my absolutely favorite APAs. Long after you’re through the glass, the taste lingers on your tongue and your mouth waters. Could easily be a "usual" for me, if I could find it up here. Guess another trip to NC is in the future.

Bottle. Pours a copper-orange with a fluffy white head if your agressive with it. I like to be agressice in the pour sometimes to release the aroma. Smell of citrius and a little piney spice. Taste is very nice with some caramel, spice, and pine. Nice little bite to finish on the way down. I like this beer but then again I like hops.
