2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 oobawa (549) - South Carolina, USA - MAY 31, 2011
Seems more English than American Pale Ale, with a lot of malt piling up on top of a piney, mildly citric finish. The malts are grainy and pretty nice, but more hops are needed on the finish to tighten up the brew. (2/08)

Poured a clear medium amber hue with a white head, good retention and good lace. Aroma had a typical caramel malt note and some hops. Flavor was nicely balanced and the finish was really smooth. Carbonation was just right. A great session ale.

12 oz bottle sampled at the Wreck on Mt. Pleasant, SC: pale gold with an ivory head and piney hop aroma. Nicely carbonated mouthfeel and solid hop profile. Perfect accompaniment to the fried shrimp and scallops.

Had this in a local bar in Mt Pleasant. Great local beer, would drink again, when in Rome...

Citrusy aroma with a great bitter, hoppy finish. The color was super clear, contrary to an earlier comment. I got this beer on tap at Noisy Oyster in Charleston.

Color is reminiscent of a good ipa. Head diminishes quickly hops almost too pronounced for a pale ale. Would have given it a better rating as an ipa. It’s all in the name.... Sitting here in chas though so when in Rome...just a good beer- not great, not bad

On cask at the Charleston Brewvival on 02/27/2010. Cloudy orange body with a small white head. Big citrus and simcoe aroma. Simcoe and citrus hop flavor, though somewhat light. Light body with moderate carbonation.

Bottle from a grocery in Charleston. Pours a nice amber-gold. Offwhite head. Nose is all fresh cascades with a bit of caramel in the background. Taste is pretty solid, crisp and fresh cascade citrus that works with the caramel. Nice.
