NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA Mar 16, 2006 Low intensity grassy hop aroma. Orange body holds a two finger thick, mostly lasting, white head. Citrus tinged hoppy fore. The malt also is citrus tinged, but also has lots of sweeter white fruit notes like apple. Finish is mildly bitter and the aftertaste is lush and fruit laden. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Mar 5, 2006 12 oz bottle. Clear golden-orange color with thin white head. Prominent grassy hop aroma with a hint of hay. Like putting your nose in a bag of hop leaves. Tangy up front and slightly sweet with a healthy smack of those grassy hops again. No hop bitterness. harpo (13), bainbridge, Georgia, USA Feb 26, 2006 Overall a good Pale Ale. Have had this one in Columbia Sc a number of times. Nice orangish color. not to hoppy with a little bite..sort of citiric in nature. Nice with food, but you need a glass of water to go with it. Would get again if no stouts avalaible. Not too heavy...but not too light either...much better than macros. TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA Jan 25, 2006 Palmetto Pale Ale is a very respectable APA. This beer pours to a deep pale color with a nice white head, and a soft carbonation. The nose is very fragrant with citric hop aromas and just a touch of malt sweetness. The body is a sold malt base of good pale malt flavors, some nice, juicy, fruity esters. This beer finishes with a very nice, dry, citric hop bitterness that lingers. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA Nov 15, 2005 on draft flying saucer columbia, sc.
your typical look, feel, taste, light in the hops area. but compared to the other locals a bit better. still not very impressive and makes ya look around for something else. adrian910ss (1395), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 9, 2005 Pours a golden orange color with a small fading white head. Aroma is hoppy and citrusy. Taste is also hoppy and citrusy with a grapefruit flavor to it. A good pale ale overall. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Oct 11, 2005 (Draught) Pours a murky burnt orange body with a small white head. Aroma of caramel and mild grapefruit. Flavor of mild grassy hops. Beer Guy99 (250), Maineville, Ohio, USA Oct 7, 2005 I enjoyed a six pack of this while on Hilton Head. This was a very nice and enjoyable pale ale. Perhaps a bit thinner than I prefer but I’d definitely drink it again. Nice deep golden color with reddish hints. Good, long-lasting head and nice hoppy flavors that did not disappoint. I’d recommend this out of all of the beers in the Piggly Wiggly cooler, I think I bought the best available on Hilton Head.
