Bottled: Brought back when I was home, but sadly not very good. Pours a brown color with a red tint. Tastes of faint roasted malt that is faint and a little watered down.

Had a couple of these at Hyman’s Seafood restaurant with dinner.
Poured a dark brown to nearly black color with an OK off-white head. It left a little lacing on my glass. Aroma of dark roasted malt with an almost smoky character. Flavor of the same dark roasted malt with a slightly burnt flavor with a bit of bitterness. I thought this was a pretty good porter. It went well with my flounder.

[Bottle, thanks tennisjoel!] Pours cola brown with a tiny off-white head. Aroma is cocoa and somewhat nutty. Taste is deep roasted malt, a hint of the cocoa again and then something harshly bitter. Somewhat thin, but has a long finish. Not bad, but pretty simple and really didn’t set itself apart in any way.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 badgerben (4253) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - MAY 26, 2008
OSLO and Guerde’s Memorial Weekend Tasting, 5/23/08. Courtesy of Tennisjoel and thanks for letting us knock down another state! Dark brown color with no head. Slight coffee aroma and molasses. Charred grain flavor and a bit of ash. Tastes like it was oak aged for a bit, even though I’m pretty sure it wasn’t.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Skyview (5023) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - MAY 23, 2008
UPDATED: MAY 26, 2008 Sampled at OSLO/Guerde’s Memorial Day tasting and shared by Tennisjoel. Pours a semi-clear cola brown brew with a thin beige head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and off-white ring. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, some floral and a touch of coffee. Taste is slightly chalky, medium bodied, with a slight metallic roasted malt flavor with some dark chocolate. Finish is a little gritty with a metallic aftertaste that hides some of the roasted malt flavor.

a solid beer, not to toasted and roasted. Not too weak and thin. this has a perfect balance to what a porter should be.
