Porter gains it’s robust, full-bodied flavor from dark rich barley malts. We use a blend of munich, crystal, pale ale, black patent and chocolate malts. To these we add hops, filtered water and ale yeast. No adjuncts, additives or preservatives… Not pasteurized.

12 oz. bottle at Mellow Mushroom, Charleston, SC. Pours very dark brown, nearly black, with a thin tan head that disappeared after two sips and left no lace. Mild aroma of roasted malt. Flavor is a bit more bold with some roasted malt and coffee. Light bitterness at the finish. A bit light bodied. Not watery, just light bodied. An ok beer, but a bit mild for a porter.

Brown pour, cream colored head. Basic roast malty nose. Rather light bodied, some mocha roasted malts, biscuit. Pretty clean finish. No nice lingerings. Not bad, but a bit underwhelming.

Bottled: Brought back when I was home, but sadly not very good. Pours a brown color with a red tint. Tastes of faint roasted malt that is faint and a little watered down.

Bottle, from charleston. Pours a dark brown with a thin almost no head. Aroma is a sweet malt and chocolate smell. Flavor is thin malty and boring, nothing special here.

Look id dark brown to black in color with a decent beige colored head. Smell is roasty, coffee, and toasty. Taste is much the same as the smell. Dark and roasty.

Wow. A solide porter. Pours out a very deep brown color with a small tan head. aroma is full of choco, and roasted malt. Flavor was smooth as silk. had a nice choco roast flavor with a slight bitterness in the finish. i was really impressed with this on.

Had a couple of these at Hyman’s Seafood restaurant with dinner. Poured a dark brown to nearly black color with an OK off-white head. It left a little lacing on my glass. Aroma of dark roasted malt with an almost smoky character. Flavor of the same dark roasted malt with a slightly burnt flavor with a bit of bitterness. I thought this was a pretty good porter. It went well with my flounder.

Very robust and taosty and almost chocolaste slight tar flavor but not to overpowering. Very full body and palate. Great brew for a rainy stormy SC day

[Bottle, thanks tennisjoel!] Pours cola brown with a tiny off-white head. Aroma is cocoa and somewhat nutty. Taste is deep roasted malt, a hint of the cocoa again and then something harshly bitter. Somewhat thin, but has a long finish. Not bad, but pretty simple and really didn’t set itself apart in any way.

OSLO and Guerde’s Memorial Weekend Tasting, 5/23/08. Courtesy of Tennisjoel and thanks for letting us knock down another state! Dark brown color with no head. Slight coffee aroma and molasses. Charred grain flavor and a bit of ash. Tastes like it was oak aged for a bit, even though I’m pretty sure it wasn’t.
