Aroma favors that of a roasted coffee and chocolate intermix. A smooth porter that allows you to enjoy several bottles. Enjoyable and easier to swallow then some of the heavier porters I have tried in the past. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 3, 2006 Bottle from decaturstevo. Dark brown with small lacing head. Smells burnt and of coffee. The body was thin but I got used to it. The taste was of burnt coffee and semi sweet chocolate. This beer also gave me heartburn. Thanks, Stevo tiggmtl (4312), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 28, 2006 Chocolate, biscuity malt, some citrus and herbal hops are notable in the nose. Opaque black body is topped by a low off white head that recedes to partial cover and ring with some lacing. Strong roast never overwhelms the delicate chocolate and raisin flavours. Malt character is fairly sweet and balances well with decent bitterness. Sweet ness and roastiness continue to spar on the tongue in the aftertaste. Medium body with moderate carbonation and silky texture. Bottle sampled with MartinT, muzzlehatch, Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere. GG (1689), NorCal, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 17, 2006 Pours out a dark brown color with an off-white head. Aroma is roasty, coffee, a little cocoa and malty. Flavors are pretty much the same as the nose, with a bit more emphasis on the coffee angle. A decent brew. Nothing I would turn away. Lots of lace. Aromas are heavy malts, lots of roasty, toasted notes. Fruity, with lots of hops and dark chocolate. Flavours are roasty coffee beans, dark bitter chocolate, fruity at times, chocolate. Dry, creamy finish, and way too easy to drink. Thanks Ross! jazz88 (2239), San Francisco, California, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 24, 2006 Bottle from Ross. Pours a nice ruby red/brown with a tan persistent craemy head. Smells of sweet malt, dark fruit, spices, chocolate and hints to cherries. Taste is of chocolate and tinges of coffee beans with some earthy hops and spicy elements. Mouthfeel is thick and oily. The finish is of bitter chocolate and mellow tartness. This one’s definitely a keeper,
