COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barley Legal Coconut Porter is a traditional American-style porter with a decidedly untraditional addition of coconut. The addition of just the right amount of coconut gives this porter a velvety smooth mouth feel with just a bit of coconut flavor at the end. A full-bodied porter, Barley Legal pours nearly pitch black with strong aromas and flavors of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate and a slight hint of coconut milk. So drinkable itís barely legal.

Smell of chocolate, coffee. Black colour, high light brown head. Very roasted bitter, also sour. Aroma of cocoa, roasted malt, coconut. Feels more of a sourstout than porter. Surprisingly light (well, mid-heavy) body, soft but lively carbon.

Swaroga (1813) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAY 20, 2015
On tap at Delirium, Brussels. This porter is sour. I was sure they added Brett in it but from reading the comments this is not intentional. Funny since the beer tasted really well with just right sour profile. In fact itís the sourness that is the best thing in that beer because when it comes to roastiness and coco flavor it is, well... weak.

Dark brown with small beige head. Coconut aroma. Slight dry bitterness with roasted notes, bit sweetness, meanwhile quite sour (transportation fault?) In lambic manner.

draught@Erzbierschof - black beer with a little beige foam left; pretty roasted aroma of tobacco and ashes with notes of coconut fighting on the same level; subtle carbonation; a good malt backbone, earthy and roasted finish with more notes of coconut, ashes and cold coffee - a good character and beautifully made
