Barley Legal Coconut Porter is a traditional American-style porter with a decidedly untraditional addition of coconut. The addition of just the right amount of coconut gives this porter a velvety smooth mouth feel with just a bit of coconut flavor at the end. A full-bodied porter, Barley Legal pours nearly pitch black with strong aromas and flavors of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate and a slight hint of coconut milk. So drinkable it’s barely legal.

In short: a nice schwarzbier???
Pours very dark with nice off white head. Short head retention, some lacing. Roasty, liquorice, caramel aromas. Light to medium body, average carbonation, crispy texture. Taste follows the nose, roasty, liquorice, caramel, dry mouthfell, moderate bitterness. Ends roasty and dry. No porter character (resembles a dunkel or schwarzbie) nor coconut detected. Despite this enjoyable beer.

Ujdzie.

650ml bottle. Ruby red glowing, darkest brown colour with late awakening, huge, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, nothing more. Taste is moderately sweet dark malty, cautious hints of coconut; slightly watery, but nice, smooth mouthfeel. Nevertheless monotonous, restricted, slightly boring and disappointing.
