Cool Beanz Coffee Porter is a easy drinking porter with a balanced yet notably coffee focused beer. We brew this beer with our local Coffee Roaster Philz Coffee. The Philz roast we use, Philtered Soul, is roasted with hazelnuts and lends a nice nutty roundness to the beer

Pours pitch black with a nice head. Aroma: freshly grounded coffee dominates the picture, some vanilla in the background. Taste: espresso, dark malt. Surprisingly little body for this one, almost watery body. Nice aroma but I expected far more from the taste. More complexity would be also nice, as the (no doubt, great) coffee aroma/taste is the only dominating thing here.

Draft @ Hoppy Loft.

Dark brown with rich creamy beige head. Bit dry bitter coffee taste, also roasted malt, hoppiness, some sour notes. Nice bitter aftertaste.

Bottle at the BeerTemple, shared with caesar. "Clear" black pour with foamy tan foam that recedes rather quickly. Aroma is roasty, lots of coffee, roasted coffee beans, espresso, light nutty aromas, very light dark chocolate. Taste is bitter, tons of coffee, a bit one dimensional, really coffee-forward, but at least it is a pleasant coffee taste. Palate is med-light bodied, quite dry, light bodied porter, med carbonation. Decent.

(Palo Alto Cool Beanz Coffee Porter) Bottle 650 ml at home, from a trade with MarkoNm, thanks! Served into a snifter, ABV 6% Very dark mahogany brown colour on the body, huge and very thick tan head, with excellent retention, leaving heavy lacing behind. Aroma is full of coffee, oats on the background and light fruity notes, grassy hops. Taste on the other hand is more hop forward and has more intense fruity notes, while the coffee is now on the back, along with roasted malts, light chocolate and the hazelnuts. Medium body, good carbonation and very dry on the palate. Very good.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is smoky roasted malt, coffee. The flavour is moderate bitter with a roasty, smoke, light creamy caramel, liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Draft with Linh, Will and Caroline in SF. Pours a deep brown body with thin lacing. Aroma is coffee and chocolate malts. Mouthfeel is light with notes of sweet milk chocolate and mild coffee roast. A tad muted overall, but a nice porter.
