We at Palo Alto Brewing love working with our local community. When Kiley from Mollie Stone’s Craft Beer Program wanted us to make a special collaboration brew for Mollie Stone’s, we were excited. Hostage DIPA is an IPA that will change hops as the seasons change. What will remain the same is the aggressive hop flavor and aroma, high quality, and availability limited to your Mollie Stone’s Market’s.

Check out which hops are in the Hostage you are drinking...
Batch #1 — Flavoring and Aroma Hops: An unnamed hybrid with a majority blend of Simcoe and Cascade hops.
Batch #2 — Flavoring and Aroma Hops: Mandarin and Galaxy (11-13-13)

Pours a crystal clear burnt gold with a thin egg shell white head. Good lacing. Aroma is sweet and full of rye. Some dough, soap, caramel malts and floral notes. Citrus, grapefruit, lemon, candied orange wraps everything up in the back of the nose. Solid medium body with some carb. Flavors are reminiscent of aroma with rye bread and soap most prominent start to finish. Citrus pith and caramel malts follow. Mild peppery bite as well. Bitter grasses and minerals form the bitter end.

Doft: Lite gräsiga toner, svag pilsner ton. Fräsch svag havsdoft. Smakar : mycket krämigt mild med en jävligt alldeles lagom efterbeska. En av de bästa kanske bästa Rye IPA jag druckit.

A small greyish-blond lace, upon a hazy brass colored body. Strong sweet nutty rye-bread aroma, well blended with a good dose of fruity hops. Healthy body. Thick mouthfeel. Taste is sweet bready malt with a peppery touch, balanced by a bold earthy/fruity bitterness. Lasting bittersweet ending.
