l1br4r14n (176), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jul 4, 2009 Pours a ruddy brown with a soapy off-white head. Weak aroma sour cherries, malt and vinegar. Flavor is sour cherries, red wine vinegar, and lactic sourness. Flavor seems a little watered down. Not my favorite sour, but nice. KnN (618), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Jul 4, 2009 Medium brown pour with a thin off-white head and a nice bit of lacing. Aroma is funk, cherries, raisins, dark fruit, and a little banana (sour banana? Sure, why not.)
Flavor is similar to aroma but is disappointingly thin and a little watery. Still a nice tasty sour beer. GMCC2181 (755), Bear, Delaware, USA Jul 2, 2009 Bottle shared at Stateline by robert.. Thanks! Bottle 515. Dark in color, small head that faded quickly. Decent aroma of sour cherries and grapes... Taste was a shitty sourness... Really weak compared to all the beers earlier.... not watery just weak or light in texture. My least favorite of the night... Italians shoud stick to cars and food.... not sour beers MeisterBrew (116), Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA Jun 30, 2009 Bottle. Pours a cloudy reddish brown color with a small tan head. Aroma of wood , sour cherries, and balsamic vinegar. Flavor is like a lighter La Folie. Oak, sour cherries, and a slight sweet alcohol flavor are what I get out of it. Very nice. The only negative I can say about it, is that it seemed a little watery at the finish. Otherwise a very tasty sour. Unfortunately the high price will probably keep me from purchasing again. Travlr (472), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jun 28, 2009 Dark reddish amber with a sweet sour aroma. Full bodied, malty and complex. In the style of Rodenbach, but with slightly less body. Might age well, worth a try. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 14, 2009 Earthy cellared aroma reminiscent of Brie rind. Poured deep red with big head to begin with but dissipates quickly. Flavor is earthy with tangy earthy cellar notes of cheese rinds. Excellent mouth feel tiny bubbles with champagne like spritziness. Good beer, but i have enjoyed the flavor characteristics of other sours more. elihapa (821), Honolulu, California, USA Jun 7, 2009 Bottle, shared with my family on day of college graduation. Appears muddy brown-red with ominously little head. Aroma is of tart cherry, white vinegar, and some miscellaneous sour fruit. The flavors present are decent, much more vinegary then I was expecting. The finish is full of sour fruit and a bit of fruit-peel bitterness. Unfortunately, I really objected to this beer’s mouthfeel. It starts watery and uncarbonated, and never improves. I found myself taking bigger swigs of this brew just to achieve some kind of fullness from the palate. Overall, I suppose this is a decent sour – definitely of the vinegary variety – but its shortcomings in palate and appearance are obvious. I may in the future try another bottle to re-evaluate. TampaBrew (302), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 7, 2009 poured a hazy light red/brown. Nose was mild lactic tartness, some vinegar, some mild wood and very mild sweetness. Flavor was a smooth acidic tartness, not very "in your face" by any means. Some chardonnay notes, Sour fruits. I usually like my sours to rip enamel from my teeth and this was overall mild in every category, but very enjoyable.
