COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Note: Says "Riserva" on label and has a red seal. Vintages begin from 2008.

Just like the Barriquée, the Riserva is ‘triple-fermented.’ Primary fermentation takes place in stainless steel. What sets the Riserva apart is the next step: 15-18 months spent in wine wooden vats, compared to the Barriquée’s 8-10 months; the wooden vats were used previously for Barbera (red wine), for maybe 150 years.
This adds an elegant wine-like quality and a dry, oaky character to the deep, earthy, sourness that the Barriquée is known for.

Bomber share thanks to Matt. Appearance: finger tan head, brownish amber color, light cloudy, no lace. Aroma: prune, earthy bitterness, leather, light oak. Palate: light body, soft carbonation, dry finish. Taste: soft malty start, light to medium tartness through finish. Overall, not my favorite sour, the balance is too heavy towards maltiness and not tart enough for me.

2008, Batch #10 Bottle 93 Cherry brown with etched light tan foam. Smells like stilton cheese, oak, some pie cherry, really not taking much on the nose here personally. As it warms, it kinda reminds me of cherry jolly rancher smell. Flavor is lightly tart with rich acetic character, lightly sweet and a good bit of oak. Thin with light, ticklish carb and a dry finish. Overall the beer is really drinkable, as it warms, it is really inviting as a beverage, makes me wish I were sitting in a lush leather chair at fireside.
