2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 kkearn (1162) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 9, 2009
750mL bottle, from secret santa 2008. Pours very deep brown, capped with a medium sized tan head. Musty aroma, with wet cardboard, vegetables, and apples. Flavor is roasty malt, earth, wood, and vegetables. Finishes with some mild bitterness. Very thin bodied. I didn’t dislike this as much as everyone else.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Boutip (3294) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 3, 2009
Bottle: Poured a fizzy deep black color stout with a thin light brown color head with minimal retention and some light lacing. Aroma of sourness and oak are dominating. Taste is also dominated by some sour notes with loads of oak and some light roasted malt notes. I am pretty sure I would have had a hard time to recognize this has a stout since sourness was so dominating. Body is a bit thin with some good carbonation. I am not sure why previous rating are so low – sour stout? Sure but what do expect when its barreled in oak; DMS – couldn’t find any trace of?
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 Papsoe (21781) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 8, 2008
(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Pours an almost clear rough off-white head. Weird aroma of vegetables and fustiness. Medium body yet quite watery. Underlying vegetable notes and a dry and bitter finish. Really unpleasant. 290508

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 2/20 Maria (7805) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUN 9, 2008
Blind tasting @ Yespr. Brown with a red hue. The aroma is revolting with notes of chicory, fennel and cabbage water. The totally dominating notes in the flavour are as in the aroma, and do not even want to force myself to search for other notes – terrible....
1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 yespr (20656) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JUN 7, 2008
Bottle#27: 75 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a redish glare and a lacing white head. Earthy towards vegetable aroma. Thin mouthfeel. Flavour is mild watery and mild roasted malt. Ends vague and some watery acidic roasted note. Bland and boring, mouldy, earthy and rotten wood. I was looking forward to this anticipating a beer that couldn’t be that bad - it was worse :(
