3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2011
Cask (gravity dispense) at Egham Beer Festival on 23 April 2011. A new brewery operating from the premises formerly used by the longstanding, but now defunct, Reepham brewery. The is a quite dark, copper coloured bitter. Lively condition. Quite malty with nutty and soft fruity elements. Not devoid of hops either - of the earthy, slightly peppery UK persuasion. Decently balanced and pleasantly drinkable. Maybe not the most distinctive beer I tried at this festival but a promising, solid introduction.

Cask - The Trafford Arms, Norwich. Small & creamy lasting beige head, clear copper brown body. Pretty decent strawberry fruit aroma, some apple in the back. Nutty & toasty malts - leaning towards becoming roasty - with a touch of earth. Good, solid English hop bitterness and decent body with some mid fruits coming through towards the end. Light to medium body, mostly soft on the palate with a medium length grassy hoppiness in the finish.
