cbkschubert (1566), Skyline, Arizona, USA Apr 21, 2007 22 oz. bottle via BockyHorsey - Pours a clear brown color with a one and a half finger thick light tan head. Light lacing. Has a light toasted malt aroma. Flavor is light roasted malt with a tad bit of smokiness. Thin, dry palate. Light to medium body. Not bad. Thanks Bill. Wish Papago would get serious about bottling thier beer. Aurelius (2466), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 24, 2005 Mild vanilla, a little chocolate, a little hazel. Good dark schwarz-like coloring. No head. Thin. Decent flavor profile but not much coffee, nuts or fruit. Was looking for more. turbo (1248), Arizona, USA Jun 30, 2005 On tap at Papago.
Black with smallish head and lacing.
Aroma is roasty malts and chocolate.
Flavor is chocolate , coffee with a nice roasty finish.
Body is a bit watery but good overall. FlacoAlto (2086), Tucson, Arizona, USA Jun 24, 2005 This beer is a deep brown color, it is slightly hazy and in the light shows a deep ruby note to it. The head is a frothy light brown color. The nose is light with notes of caramel and perhaps a hint of nuttiness. The taste is fairly dry up front, but then moves to a note of buttery oak. Quite light on the palate. While a bit dry, there is a definite caramel sweetness here. I also get a hint of chocolate. The finish of this beer is the most notable part, actually a bit rich, creamy, with notes of woody tannins, buttery oak and a definite note of hazelnut that comes to linger and dominate the finish. Bockyhorsey (1961), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jun 16, 2005 Malty aroma. Black body with off white head. Flvor seemed to be of water at first. Got some spice flavor at the end. Not bad mild beer to drink.
