Draft @ Papago. Pours a dark brown with a medium beige head. The aroma had dark roasted malts, cocoa and an earthy quality. The flavor was roasted malts, cocoa, ash, a hint of dark fruit with an earthy bitterness. This was a solid drinking porter that favored the roasted malts and was a touch dry.

Poured up on tap at Papago brewpub with mahogany body and virtually no head. The modest aroma offers up earthy notes, some toffee and cherries. It’s mild in strength and a bit tough to pin down what’s going on in there aromatically. The taste is a mix of dark roasted malts, coffee and earthiness. Toward midway I get some additional notes joining in like spicy hops and a sort of strawberry esteriness. It ends a touch on the dry side thanks to some roasted malts.

Tap at Papago. Dark maroon color, nice lacing. Decent coffee and chocolate. More like an English stout than a porter, but very tasty.

growler very generous given to me by hellbilly, thanks a ton for this huge want! pours a dense dark brown with a minimal brown head. pretty classic and straight forward importer, no fancy additions or gimmicks. solid aroma and flavor, roasty malts with a bright lager yeast present, slight oxidation in both. nice medium full body, fairly oily texture, nice crsip finish that is slightly dry but more thick and lingering than anything. the aftertaste is very oily and thick, roasty, and acrid.

The best of 3 contracted brews, enjoyed on tap at Papago. Opaque black with lovely off-brown head, lacey. Coffee roast chocolate aroma. Good for something coffee, I am not a coffee drinker. Above average mouthfeel.

Draught at Papago Brewing Co., Scottsdale, AZ Black color. Dusty aroma, meat, roasted malt. Medium body strength, roasted malt flavor, some ashes, light Tequila. The final is dry bad coffee. Quite weird.
