nickd717 (1265), Palo Alto, California, USA Oct 18, 2009 GABF 2009. Pours reddish-amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, fruit, bread, and mild citrusy hops. Flavor is similar, lots of caramel malt, bread, citrus hops, and berries. Medium body and somewhat standard palate. Good for the style. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 7, 2009 tap at Papago. Pours a cranberry juice read with a half finger tan head. The nose is sweet malt, bread and light fruit. The taste is caramel malt, biscuits, fruit with a saccharin/sweet and low type aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel. Kinda boring. nbutler11 (727), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Feb 20, 2009 On tap at Papago. Pours a warm shade of amber with a trim beige head. Not a lot in the aroma. Tastes of caramel, malt, and Chex cereal. A bit simple, but not bad. ajm (902), Los Angeles, California, USA Dec 11, 2008 Tap at Pap. A mellow if not energetic aroma of sweet malt and flora. Not at all aggressive hops make for not a malt bomb, but an up-front malt profile almost like a red rye. But way more even and creamy, almost like an aged Irish red. Retains brightness nicely. Refreshing. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Aug 30, 2008 On tap at Papago. Clear, deep amber pour with a medium foamy head that fades slowly and leaves spotty lacing. Aroma of nutty, sweet malt and fruits, with a touch of citrus hops in the background. Flavor is pretty much the same, lots of caramel malt and fruit up front, just a touch of citrus hops on the finish. Nothing wrong with the brew at all, just not really my thing. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA Dec 19, 2007 Nice red amber color with a thin white head.
Light aroma of fruits, nuts and plums.
Sweet malty fruitiness flavor with a thin body with a sweet, dry finish. Skyview (3931), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Dec 11, 2007 Sampled on draught at the Papago Brewing Company tavern in Phoenix, AZ. Pours a clear reddish amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a thin ring and film top. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, some roasted nuts, toffee and a touch of apricots. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of fruity caramel malt and a touch of citrus hops. Finish is semi-sweet, roasted caramel malt and a touch of dried dark fruit. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA Oct 30, 2007 The beer pours from the tap a somewhat fuzzy reddish amber with a decent two finger creamy white head that settles slowly, the lace a concealing sheet upon the glass. Nose has a rich sweet malt aroma, hints of fruit; I would say strawberries, with a bit of apricots, quite fresh and clean. Start is sweet malt with a touch of hops at the back, top is medium in feel. Finish has a sturdy acidity, the hops spicy in their bite, sweet to the end with a dry lingering aftertaste, quite nice beer, easy on the palate.
