3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, bought @ Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam.
Pours hazy golden with a giant, frothy, white head. Bubbles bursting as it slowly fizzes away. Really lovely aroma. Lots of brett, red and green apples, oranges, barnyard, almonds, crispy pilsner malts, pine and a slight white wine note. High, prickly carbonation, lovely dry mouthfeel. Flavour is dry, oaky, good brett. Barnyard, pine cones, grass and a touch of oranges, ginger, green apple zest. Lovely long dryness in the aftertaste. It might be a travesty to say this, but it really reminds me of Orval!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
330 ml bottle. From DECA, Woesten/Vleteren, Belgium.
Hazy golden colour with small off-white head. Yeasty and spicy aroma. The flavour is also yeasty and spicy. Some sweet fruitiness and breadyness too. Flavour hides the 8% well. Nothing wrong but doesn’t stand out either.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
300 ml bottle. Yellow hazy straw body with white head that disappers quickly. Fruity, yeasty and spicy aroma. Some piny hoppiness, but in very small amount, almost disappers behind the sweetness. Very fruity and strong first taste, but disappears quite quickly leaving only some bitterness. Flavour has a strong presence of yeast. Tastes like a little too fresh and not matured enough.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Huge yellowish tinted head, over fully hazy dark-yellow beer with outspoken green sheen. Definitely sourish aroma, mixed with alcohol, lactic and sour pineapple, solvent. Very much solvent in the taste, yeast-dominated, but with some obvious autolysis and fatty acids. Nearly tart backthroat. Some astringency, medium bodied, slick, alcoholwarming. Ugh. Something went seriously wrong at some point. Deserves better.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The lead bartender at Wavins in Schaerbeek, Brussels, Belgium was kind enough to sell this to me for carryout last night. Lucky for me! Easy to pour a big, foamy, frothy head on this. Only a little lace. Color is a lightly hazy amber. Aroma is divinely of malt, oranges, honey, and bananas. Flavor’s pretty good too. Slightly more bitter than the aroma. Great body. Sipping beer. Slightly warming at the end of the finish. Good beer.
