(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Slightly yeasty and sweet malty aroma with fruity notes of pineapples and hints of citric sourness. Moderately sweet and slightly sour flavour, medium to light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Pale malt-character with moderately fruity notes and peppery and yeasty spice; almost dry and sour fruity finish with peppery spice and traces of herbal hops. Not overly demanding. 29.XI.10

(Bottled) Opaque amber with a small, lacy head. Very flowery-perfumy-fruity nose with lemon and some spices. Flavor is fruity and flowery-aromatic with some wheaty-lemony sourness and pale, grainy malt. Medium+ body, medium carbonation, refreshing palate. A really nice surprise with no previous expectations at all. 5446

33cl bottle. Blonde color with a white head. Gentle aroma of grassy hops. Taste has sweet orange, fresh grass and flowery hops. Good hoppy aftertaste that tends to become a little bit soapy but surely not negative in flavor. Overall a good hopped beer.

I may be rating this unfairly high as I am unsure whether the ’mixed fermentation’ is deliberate or not. Strikes the wrong chord by claiming to be made by Verstraete "Brewery" when the work is actually done at Deca brewery. Light-blond, stronger ale with earthy backtastes similar to those found in those lambic-ale mixes that have started to pepper the Belgian scene. Either that or a strongish blond with a benign infection.
