7th March 2010. Hazy amber beer. Decent foamy white head. Soft palate. Light creamy malt. A little sweet orange and some floral sweetness. Finishes soft and dry. Not bad at all.

I may be rating this unfairly high as I am unsure whether the ’mixed fermentation’ is deliberate or not. Strikes the wrong chord by claiming to be made by Verstraete "Brewery" when the work is actually done at Deca brewery. Light-blond, stronger ale with earthy backtastes similar to those found in those lambic-ale mixes that have started to pepper the Belgian scene. Either that or a strongish blond with a benign infection.

Pours a hazy blonde to light orange color with nice white head. Aroma of malts and hops, yeast, herbs, and spices. Flavors of malts, hops, grains, yeast, light grapefruits and orange, and spices. Good carbonation, light sweetness and bitterness. Refreshing and nice flavors.

Bottle at Monks, Brussels. Hazy whitish straw color, small white head. Lots of black currant on the nose, also citrus, fruit candy and a slight funkiness. Light sweetness that quickly goes away to leave a tart dryness. A bit candylike with all the black currant, but still refreshing.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a murky light yellow color with a white head. The aroma is strong wheat and bananas. The flavor is wheat, corn, oranges, bananas and pepper. The hops add quite a bit of spiciness to the overall flavor but don’t add much bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bart (2940) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAY 15, 2010
Golden blond coloured beer with lots of carbonation and a medium white head. Sweet, slightly hoppy hinted aroma with a short sugary alcoholic tint. Medium to full, light creamy palate. Finish is sweet, malty and light alcholic hinted. Rather short ended, misses some clear biterness and depth.

Bottle at home. Cloudy golden coloured with a medium sized white head. Fruity aroma of spices with notes of yeast. Fruity flavour of caramel, spices and hops with notes of yeast and alcohol. Spicy and hoppy finish.

Vaiz (3350) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAY 12, 2010
Bottle at home. Pours a clear golden color with an instantly dissipating white head. Aroma of fruits, earth, old beer and nail-polish remover. Flavor is earthy, dry, fruity, somewhat malty, slightly bitter and a bit funky. Very much dried old beer in the finish. Strange and troublesome, yet bizarre enough to remain slightly appealing. I’m not exactly sure what to think of it.
