Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of gn0sis. Pours pitch black with a light brown creamy head. Sweet coffee aroma, not overly roasted - kinda smooth. Medium body, some hard roast and vanilla while the coffee flavours are toned down a bit. There’s a little malt tartness and astringency. But overall a pleasant and balanced coffee Porter. 180311

I know this is more of a black lager than, say, a stout or a porter. But the promise of a full palate, rich roasted nose, and thickness of mouthfeel kind of fades away on a bland and almost watery finish.

Thanks to Exiled for sharing this bottle. This is my first beer from Paper City Brewing and I am excited to try it. The beer pours a dark brown color with a thick tan head. The aroma is very heavy on the coffee with a little bit of roasted malt mixed in. One of the strongest coffee aromas I have had in a beer. The flavor is more of the same, but there are a few differences. While the coffee is still the predominant flavor, I get a lot of chocolate mixed in which really compliments the coffee well. I also get some roasted malt as well as some cream notes which also go very well with the other flavors. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very good coffee beer. Glad I got to try it.

thanks to gn0sis for this goodie! dark brown pour, medium dark brown head. a tasty and well done beer, very smooth, not too much coffee by any standard, soid base beer, nice all the way through. not outrageous in any way, but a very solid brew, and very drinkable seeming more like 5% than 8.5%.
