Commercial Description:
A classic rendition of the Style named after another one of the owners passions, the Indian Motorcycle. The bikes were fabricated in nearby Springfield Ma and at one time rivaled Harley Davidson. Jay’s collection of antique bikes can be seen in Paper City’s tasting room. For our IPA we use nearly two pounds of hops per barrel of British East Kent Goldings and American Yakima Goldings hops. We also use British light crystal, body building Munich malt, and North American pale malt. India’n Pale ale pulls from both the British and American traditions. (O.G. 1.053 Abv 5.4% IBU’s-60).

An orange beer with no head. Both the aroma and flavor are sour and hoppy. Quite a disappointment.

Medium beige head atop a hazy amber body. Aroma is medium sweet floral, orange. Taste is earthy, floral, light orange, not especially bitter. Medium body, lightly resinous.

Orange coloured. Light hoppy aroma. Flavour of tea with some hoppiness and some bitterness in the finish. Dry and very light. Not impressive.

On tap at the Vermont Brewers’ Fest. Started out very promisingly; good red-orange color with decent head, awesome apricot/mango aroma; well-balanced flavor is not distinctive though, and it’s rather thin. Reasonably hoppy, I thought. A disappointment after the Hefe, but still ok all in all.

Cask (gravity dispense), at GBBF, August 2005. Orange colour. Sharp and hoppy but there’s not much else there. Lots of lemon. Very raw hop character with no balancing malt to speak of. Rather like chewing hop pellets. Short of finesse.
