COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic rendition of the Style named after another one of the owners passions, the Indian Motorcycle. The bikes were fabricated in nearby Springfield Ma and at one time rivaled Harley Davidson. Jay’s collection of antique bikes can be seen in Paper City’s tasting room. For our IPA we use nearly two pounds of hops per barrel of British East Kent Goldings and American Yakima Goldings hops. We also use British light crystal, body building Munich malt, and North American pale malt. India’n Pale ale pulls from both the British and American traditions. (O.G. 1.053 Abv 5.4% IBU’s-60).

I think I actually liked this beer more than others on this site. I’m just getting acquainted with the Paper City family of beers and to be honest, I’m fairly impressed. This offering is generously hopped-up. It is spicy, complex and quite tasty. The familiar rusty-nail essence that pervades the best IPAs exists here as well. Hearty, completely coats the palate. A strong, lingering finish.

Bottle. Clear orange in color with a nice head. Fruity hoppy aroma. Malty flavor. Some bitterness. Citrusy. Fruity finish. Decent beer. Enjoyable.

Nice earthy hop aroma, bit of wood. Some juicy malts as well. Medium bodied. Good malt flavor, rich and biscuity. Good bitterness, some perfumey hop flavor late. Soft in the mouth. This is really nice and very drinkable.

Bottle. I can see why people may not think highly of this brew. Hazy orange, white head. Lightly fruity hop aroma. Flavor had an English malt character with a noble hop flavor and bitterness. Fruity finish. Hops not so pronounced. Nice drinking brew, but nothing that would be over the top.

Pigfoot (2268) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 21, 2004
Solid orange color, with slight haze, gifted with a fine layer of milky white foam above, generously dotted with lace. Mildly hoppy aroma, definite hop oils, notes of grapefruit, peach, tangerine. Taste: hops are pleasant, yet meek on the tongue, and what slides down the palate is nothing but juicy goodness. Piney oiliness susists throughout the length of this bottled serving, thins out at the end. Body is medium at best, and the finish is sweet, but unmemorable. A happy little ale, but a faint, forgettable IPA.

Cask (GBBF): Hazy gold. Hoppy balanced aroma. Clean malty start with a subdued hoppy finish. Citric, and quite tasty.

12 oz bottle. Copper color with a small white head. Aroma is floral with orange peel and grapefruit. Taste is hoppy enough with a nice dryness. Nice tangerine flavor is abound.

Great light-reddish color on it. Not a whole lot of hoppiness to it. I have to agree with ScottVacula in regards to the slight metallic tinge in the aftertaste. that really detracts from the overall taste.

on tap-pours a big foamy off white head and gold/copper color. Aroma is nice citrus lemon/grapefruit hops. Taste is citrus lemon/grapefruit-slight bitter hops, secondary light malt.

Hazy light amber/gold with a thin white edge head. Light carbonation. Aroma of grapes, some citrus and hay. Initially crisp and hoppy, with light citric notes mixed in with piney bitterness. Fairly well bodied but lacks malt balance upfront. Tasty regardless. Finishes weaker than it starts, hop wise, with grape notes being tasted. A decent session IPA.
