argo0 (5860), Washington DC, USA Jan 8, 2006 (12oz bottle, best by 8-30-05) Lightly hazed golden body with small beige head. Aroma is moderately sweet, pastry, caramel, some grapefruit/floral. Taste is medium sweet, bread, caramel, some grapefruit, light orange. Light-medium body, light acidity. A bit bitter for the style, very nicely balanced. DocLock (3938), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 24, 2007 Bottle from Capone’s. Hazy canary dark straw color, with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of heavy tropical fruit, hops, citrus, bready pale malt, apricot. Tastes pale malty, with some hopcitrus notes and a dry apricotty fruit presence, and some tangerine as it warmed. The taste was a minor letdown after the aroma, but this is one I’d definitely buy again. faroeviking (3756), Viking Democratic Beer Republic, Faroe Islands May 1, 2007 Bottle. Pours a nice golden colour. Sweet caramel and fruity aroma. Nice refreshing malty and a bit fruity flavour. Bit dry hoppy aftertaste. ClarkVV (3545), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Jun 20, 2005 2005 bottle consumed on 6/11/2005. Fantastic golden-amber, brilliant and lusterous. Small white head, is lightly bubbly, but retained at about a centimeter. Light chill haze and a touch of lacing. Smells of light citrus and pale malts. Tastes a bit of sourdough, quite bready and grainy, ample pale malt. Dry toasted grains as well. Soft lemon and orange rind notes give moderate bitterness. A bit too dry and acidic overall. Not watery, though, but just needs more malt sweetness. Some tea-like astringency on the end. Medium-light body, with low carbonation. Orange-herbal tea retronasal. Acidity again, though not horribly apparent, as in the Summer wheat. Braudog (3453), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Jan 14, 2007 Bottle (thanks Sue!) Golden? This poured more an amber color with a thin yeasty white head. Moderately crystaline hoppy aroma. Nice well-rounded hoppy beer, no like an American Pale or anything, but well-rounded "beer" ... not overpowering in any ay, bu it’s got just enough of everything ... little hoppy click, nice malty base, little apple fruity twist. Nice. (#2645, 1/12/07)
