3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This came with a real label that did mention "limited brewer's offering". Pours with light brown, two-fingered bubbly head, fades slowly and leaves an even lace. Medium carbonation. Deep red/amber color. Nose has a hint of nuttiness. Flavor is a good mix of malts and hops and there is some lingering hoppiness. $1.75 for a 12oz bottle.

A creamy, toffee taste. Good beer from an emerging brewery. I also taste cashews and chestnuts. Decent finish.

Oh yeah, this beer, how could I forget.
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice dark brown color with a nice one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than thirty seconds. Lacing, it was somewhat there.
The smell had a nice nutty/caramel roastiness over coating a light chocolate maltiness.
The taste was subtly sweet but with a sublime roasty nuttiness trying to invade a delicate bitter hop note but mainly just staying right where it is.
On the palate, this one sat right at a medium in body with a tad of sessionability to it.
Overall, this was a pretty good brown ale well worthy of having again.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with jjpm74 (thanks!). Poured a dark brown with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of nuts, chocolate, and toasted malts. Tastes of nuts toasted malts, chocolate and light caramel. Has a light coffee finish. Thinner and somewhat lively body. I enjoyed this one for a Brown Ale.

Sharp but light malt aroma. Clear brown color with a large white head. Moderate sweet flavor with a mild bitter finish. Pretty good for a brown.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
2004 bottle. Awesome pour, tons of creamy off-white head, small amount of sediment at the bottom of the bottle, dark and nearly opaque before it settles with burgundy and violet tinges around the edges.
Aroma is light but I do detect some english-style yeast, dry nuttiness and a bit of brown sugar. Did they use maris otter in this? Could be. The flavor is quite subtle, lightly sweet, very dry and yeasty, approaching astringent. As it warms fully, the flavor is a bit stronger with a touch more creaminess in the medium body. A bit too much carbonation towards the end that never seemed to let up. Very low hops apparency, which I liked.

Nice dark color with brown/ruby tones. Sweet nutty aroma. Flavor is nutty and sweet, with some coffee hints. Lightly bitter with just a slight sourness that detracts from the beer.
