Poured a medium golden color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of mainly blueberry muffins. The blueberry aroma wasn’t bad. Tastes of blueberries and I was also getting a spicey finish. One dimensional, but drinkable for a fruit beer. ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA May 24, 2006 Updated: Jun 6, 20062006 bottle consumed on 5/24/06. Pale yellow with a hint of copper, but also a tinge of dying grass (yellow-green). Small white head slowly fades to cover and ring, leaving light lacing. Tiny bubbles rise up in little pockets. Pure, fresh blueberry essence in the nose is clean, crisp and not sweet. Certainly it takes front seat and drowns out, somewhat, the light base malt in the background. Almost smells like a slight tart/astringent blueberry skin note in the background, as well, when inhaled sharply. A bit of grassy, crisp, herbal hoppiness on the very end. Taking a sip, the beer is crisp, with some lightly husky barley notes, dry and clean up front. The blueberry washes in to the palate and adds plenty of fruitiness, though dosent get too heavy. Tight carbonation, quite peppery, keeps things crisp, as a touch of residual malt sugar sweetens the finish. Grassy hops and perfumey blueberries linger on. Highly refreshing and drinkable without the astringency and/or meatiness that many blueberry beer succumb to.
