NIce black pour with a thinner tan head. Nice lactic aroma. Flavor is a bit reminiscent of dry Hershey’s syrup.

Nov 30, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear very dark brown body with a one finger fizzy brown head that faded quickly leaving some minimal lacing. Nose is chocolaty and roasty with a nice lactose and coffee accent. Flavor has a nice slightly sweet lactose sugar note up front backed up by a roasty and coffee maltiness. A little chalkiness on the finish. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied with a slight risidual sugar clinginess. Soft, but very active fizzy carbonation. Overall, this was a pretty nice one, but the mouthfeel was a little thin and too fizzy.

Mar 17, 2005 Pours black in color with a small tan head. Sweet malt aroma with touches of chocolate,vanilla and caramel. Flavors of chocolate,vanilla, sweet yet finishes dry and roasted. Creamy,silky mouthfeel. Nice job.

Nov 29, 2004 Black with a thick rocky tan head. Chocolate aroma with a hint of vanilla and coffee, full bodied with a bit of fizzy carbonation, starts and ends lightly sweet with a touch of bitterness. Nicely put together.

Jul 9, 2004 Nice dark color with a tan head. The flavor is very good, consisting mostly of roasty bitterness with some sweetness, and a little kick from the hops. This is a very smooth stout, a great brew to relax with.
