Named after the first settling family in Holyoke, ths is an Irish style stout so rich and creamy you will be order another before you finish the first. To describe this beer in words is a grave injustice, so try a bottle today.

Bottle at nearbeer’s Spring Cleansin’. Pours dark amber black with thin beige head. The aroma is bitter chocolate, coffee grounds, some grain, ash, and raisin. The flavor is espresso, bitter chocolate, almond, and some raisin. Nutty finish. Good, slick mouthfeel. Not too shabby.

12 oz. thanks to lithy for sharing this one. Opaque with a nice lasting ring of bubbles. Nice aromas of espresso, oat, chocolate and mixed berries Flavor is big espresso with oats, chocolate and berry. Medium-heavy body is drinkably watery and roasty-dry.

nearbeer’s Spring Cleansin’. Sample from a bottle shared by me thanks to mcox90. Dark black with hints of brown, a thin light tan head. Roast and chocolate aroma, light bitter coffee grounds. Taste is a fruity berry roasted malt, chocolate sweet body, and bitter coffee finish.

Ryan/Caseys. Dark brown stout. Oily, slight head. Dark, tar nose. Standard taste of dark fruits, molasses, caramel and sugar. Not a very good in my opinion.

(bottle - 12 oz) Dark brown pour with a fizzy tan head. Aroma is roasted malts mixed with some coffee, toffee, and cream. Flavor is sweet and roasted at the beginning with some chocolate, caramel, milk, coffee, and burnt malts. Very roasty in the back.

Bottle: Rich malty and chocolatey aroma with a light coffee presence. Nice clean roastiness. Dark brown pour with a small tan head. Light sticky lacing. Tastes chocolate filled and sweet. Lots of mocha and coffee working together. Roasty background and some light bitters in the trailer. Thanks to mcox90 for the bonus brew!

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep, almost black brown with red undertones. Small off white head with no lacing. Nose is malty with chocolate. Palate is fairly dry and smooth. Taste is all the usual stout flavors, malt, caramel, chocolate. Nice smooth drinking low impact stout.

Pours mahogany into an English pint. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Caramel malt aromas. Chocolate front to back with a lasting slightly sweet hop finish.

12oz bottle. Pours dark with the thinest of tan head. Smooth and easy drinking. Really enjoyable, I would chill on these all night. I’m proud to share the same name.
