Named after the first settling family in Holyoke, ths is an Irish style stout so rich and creamy you will be order another before you finish the first. To describe this beer in words is a grave injustice, so try a bottle today.

Small mocha head over a ruby black body. Slight toasty, chocolately aroma. Dry flavor, low carbonation, some roasted coffee. Enjoyable.

Pours a rich black with a dark tan head. Mild chocolate and butterscotch aroma. Body is dry, semi-sweet, and roasty with a more bitter lightly burnt finish. An ok dry stout.

Black body with brown head. Aroma is mild, roasty coffee. Taste is fairly rich, medium sweet, coffee though not especially bitter. Creamy medium-full body. One of the better dry stouts I've had. Looking at the other ratings, seems like this beer lacks consistency in its quality -- fortunately, I got one of the good versions.

Very typical dry stout, but more acidic and even thinner than expected. Roasty to the extreme, very little smoothness.

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2003 #18 of my Stouts of November: Opaque with large creamy tan head and good lace. The aroma hints of caramel, mocha, coffee, nutty roasted malt, dusty yeast, light pine, and light citrus. Twangy and acidic with solid malt base. Bitterness comes though on finish, combination of coffee and sublime pine, smoky too. The body is thin for a stout and watery. Too much carbonation as well. Still a easy to drink stout which you could have 4 or 5 of in a night.

A Guinness clone. A light bodied and tasting stout. Not really memorable.

I'm tasting Stouts tonite and I decided to go with the local micro as a baseline. The head was medium and creamy and slow to dissipate. It absorbs light. A nice dark roasted aroma. Earthy, coffee flavors. A bitter finish that, much like the Energizer Bunny, goes on and on and on and on...

Pours an opaque black, with a vigorous tan head. A good sign. Aroma is clean and roasty, with a bit of coffee. Flavor is powerful, which is a nice change. Heavy roastiness, with bittersweet chocolate and coffee flavors. Body feels a bit more than your average stout. My only complaint is that the carbonation was too much and I feel like it killed some of the beers flavor. Altogether, I was really impressed. Great stuff.

Wonderful black colour, but with no head. Strange flavour: some good coffe notes, but even a disappointing smell of something burnt. Smoked flavour, creamy, with some coffe traces and a very bitter finish that kills every other flavour. Nothing special, far from the best stouts.
