This beer pours a slightly hazy dark copper color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of oak, dark fruit, spice and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of caramel malt, vinous oak, pumpkin spices and mild peppers. The finish is mildly tart fruit offset by sweet pumpkin spices and malt. Complex and enjoyable beer all around.

Flip top 750ml bottle #158/1140 poured a murky brown hue w/ no head. Mild oak aroma. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a moderate sour finish. Tastes are peppers w/ some peppery heat in the finish, squash, oak, and red wine. Medium bodied. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Murky maroon, with hardly any head. Aroma is tart cherry, woody vanilla, apple, cocoa, a subtle smokiness. Flavor is a somewhat my ddled, muted version of the aroma, with the cherry tartness doing most of the work. Some roasty pumpkin tones are noticeable in the background, and an intriguing peppery heat -- almost not even there -- arises after a while. I expected more with the adjuncts thrown in this one. The sour yeast strains just overpower the other flavors.

Hazy/murky dark amber under a thin off-white cap. Lovely and interesting nose of spicy dates and a touch of chopotle chile with some sweet plum and pumpkin notes with some gentle oak tones. Great flavor of oak and plum and some other sweet dark fruit, with a wee little bit of pepper spice on the back end. Not terribly peppery, but has a nice heat. Very gentle pumpkin tones, the flavor kinda loses that quality from the nose, unfortunately. But nice oak and plum notes. Really tasty.

750ml swingtop bottle #116/1140. Vinous aroma with notes of chili peppers and pumpkin as well as some cherry. Pours cloudy amber-orange with a good, beige head and good lacing. Tart fruitiness with notes of pumpkin as well as red wine. Finishes clean with the chilies coming through and lingering on the palate with just the right amount of heat. Nice, complex brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a 750ml swing top bottle.
Aroma-Tart cherries, toffee, very slight green pepper
Appearance-cloudy brown with a halo of white foam that dissipates
Taste-tart cherry, berries, grapes, wine/vinous, slight woody, the pumpkin is noticeable, a very surprising and pleasant heat in the finish
Palate-medium bodied with low carbonation
Overall-This is one of the most well crafted pumpkin beers that I have ever experienced. An amazing balance with the esters/fruity character, pumpkin, spicing, and heat from the peppers. This is a masterpiece.

Bottle #655. Reddish brown. Nice nose of earth, caramel malts, the red wine barrel character. Pumpkin not really present in the flavor except as a grounded earthy, rustic character. Some interesting dried orange peel flavors, reminiscent of mulled wine spices. Chimayo works great lending a nice persistent heat on the finish and in the throat. Not super pumpkiny, but a drier style for sure. Great beer to drink on Halloween around a fire.

750 ml bottle, 849 / 1140. Pours reddish amber with a medium frothy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is roasted caramel malts with some chili and and a little pumpkin and brown sugar.

The flavor is sweet and sugary toffee malts with a little fruity tea spicing and some chili and some vinous notes. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, interesting, but overly sweet and I don’t get a lot of the chili and pumpkin (seed).

750 ml swing top bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting amber head. Aromas of red wine, toffee, light oak, light chilies and light fruittiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of toffee, fruittiness, red wine, oak and chilies with a smooth dry warming lingering fruity finish.
