In the 18th century, this bold, strong stout was brewed in London for the long and treacherous trip to the Imperial courts of Russia. In keeping with this stoic tradition, this whiskey-barrel aged imperial stout is warm, full bodied and fit for a Czar. Ingredients: Roasted Barley, Pale, Chocolate, Munich & Crystal Malts, Magnum & Fuggles Hops, Yeast.

A 650 ml bomber from Legacy Liquor in Vancouver. An oily black beer with a moderate head that resembles in color the crema of a good espresso. The aroma is of heavily roasted malts, whereas the flavor is a glorious coffee and chocolate bomb. A real sipper, this one!

650ml bottle pours black in color with a finger of light brown head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasted grains and dark chocolate with hints of whiskey and vanilla. Taste is a bold roasted grain bitterness with some notes of whiskey balanced with a equally bold chocolate malty sweetness with some hints of coffee and vanilla. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. Quite a tasty brew that I really enjoyed and recommend to others.

Near black pour. Aroma is roasted and a slight bourbon note. Body was a little thinner than expected. Flavour is coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla. The bourbon barrel ageing wasn’t too apparent. Good.

Bottle pour, thanks Brad. Mild malty and roasty aroma. Really tasty and smooth, roast, a bit of bourbon, chocolate. Black with tan head. Really drinkable, not overwhelmingly flavorful, but tasty and smooth.
