3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
650 ml bottle. This suffers from the inevitable comparison to Driftwood Singularity -- it’s closest B.C. contemporary. The P49 is sweeter, not as dark, not as complex, not as balanced, not as strong. It’s syrupy, dark and tasty, true, but it’s also raw, very bitter and overly dry. I don’t have the patience to cellar my beer, but this might improve if you leave it alone in a dark place for a few months.
