COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We never saw the point of sucking up to Santa all year long for a couple of measly presents. If drinking this hoppy, toasted malt CDA puts us on the naughty list, where do we sign up?

pours super dark coffee black/brown with a very small creamy head, some sticky lacing, thin ringed retention, a few active clustered streams. Toasted caramel malts on the nose. Drinks with a bright sharp-hoppiness up front, 7/10-sweetness, roasted-toasted caramel medium malts, clinging hoppy bitterness, coffee, dark fig/dates, grapefruit sourness in the mids and finish, ending with a mildly grapefruit sour hoppy light-med bitter finish. Overall medium bodied with a partially watery mouthfeel. Medium complexity, medium depth, good transitions, good carry, good drinkability.

Black pour with a thick tan head. Aroma is grapefruit, spruce, burnt toast, a little earthy. Smooth and roasted with a nice balance. The hops give a nice grapefruit flavour which lingers on the finish while the dark malts provide nice contrast in the body. Though, it’s surprisingly mellow and easy drinking.

Yes, this is black. And toasty, with the right amount of hops. Not much more to say, really.

650ml bottle. Pours flat black with a pillowy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, corn syrup, spruce, cough medicine, caramel. Rich, hoppy taste with a light sweetness. Brings a warming alcohol burn. Medium bodied, bordering on thick, low carbonation, subtle bitter finish. Very tasty -- pairs well with pork belly tacos and truffles.

(650ml bottle) Purchased at Hillside Liquors for $6.60. Pours a quick dissipating beige head atop a black body. Nose of resiny pine hops. Good hop front with a cream dark malt flavour. My first bottled Parallel 49 brew, and I’m very satisfied.

650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark red/brown with light head. Aromas of pine, grapefruit, roasted malts and caramel. Flavors of citrus: orange and lime, roasted malt and a little coffee. Nice though a bit thin.
