3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Boundary Crossing, Vancouver
Cloudy blond color with small head. The aroma of Sorachi Ace is very light. Light and dry mouthfeel, light but refreshing malt flavor, with mild, delicate Sorachi Ace; ordinary bitterness.
Undaring beer, but granted that it’s balanced and very pleasant to drink.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Slightly hazy straw colour. Aroma is a bit yeasty and husky. A bit husky, kind of a funny definitely a real brightness to the hops, mouldy mushrooms. Moderate bitterness. Strange beer, really not getting the Sorachi at all.

In a word, horrid. On tap at Bar Volo. Odd hoppy flavour. Not drinkable, although looks and smells fine.

2013-10-23. Golden yellow body with a modest white head. Aroma of floral hops and mild malt. Light grassy touches. Flavour is pleasantly bitter throughout, very floral hop character, mild malt. Very smooth average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Just okay. On tap at Volo, Toronto

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
650mL bottle, pours a clear yellow with a medium white head. Nose is full of fresh cereals, grassy hops and a bit of bready malts. Flavour brings out loads of cereals upfront, followed by grassy hops, and bready malts. Very dry, and dominated by the cereal. Highly drinkable and thirst-quenching. Great pils.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(650ml bottle) Purchased at the brewery for around $6. Pours a medium white frothy head atop a light golden, highly-carbonated body. Nose is mildly lactic and grassy. Stronger malt then I’d expect from a pilsner, lacking the crispness I’d have expected. Okay.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Not a bad pilsener. Not quite sure the sorachi does much for it though. Pours golden without head or lacing. Some crisp malt and a little candy. Finishes with light sweetness. Average carbonation. Tap at volos.

This brewery makes some very questionable offerings, but this is one of their better beers.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
650 ml bottle. Pours a clear gold with light head. Aroma of cereal and corn - not very impressive. Flavors of cereal, toasted rice, and resin. Light bitter finish. Interesting taste - goes great with potato chips.
