Give me your tears, Gypsy! This ruby red ale will mesmerize you with a caravan of malt flavour and entrancing hop presence. Served as Gyparillo Red IPA at Cask Days 2012, dry hopped with Gypsy and Amarillo Hops.

pours a dark amber or red with thin tan head and heavy lacings. aroma is toasted caramel and some light coffee. fairly light mouthfeel, but this doesn’t detract from the taste explosion of caramel, light molasses and some grains. finish is enhanced with a balanced bitterness. no signs of alcohol despite the moderately high gravity. Overall, this is an impressive beer and an excellent example of what a standard amber/red ale should be (and surprisingly low price point). It is hard to rate it higher as nothing stands out, but that should not take away from what this is - a beer that knows what it is doing. I hope to try more from this brewery very soon.

Bottle from trade with MaxHBroue, thanks man! Pours a clear copper (OK, amber) with a medium offwhite head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of caramel, fruits and pine. Taste doesn’t quite feel sweet and is moderately bitter. Pine and roast flavors along with some caramel again. A slight fruitiness in the finish. Medium bodied with a moderate carbonation and a oily mouthfeel. Not bad, not great. Average american amber ale.

341ml brown bottle. Appearance - clear amber, good clingy white cap. Aroma - quick floral, grapefruit, caramel and toasted malt. Taste - toasted malt, grapefruity bitterness. Resiny hops in the aftertaste. Body is medium, slightly creamy texture, nice mouthfeel. Pretty simple amber ale with good drinkability. Hoppier than I thought it would be.

What an amazing beer! Sipping it, I was magically transported to Europe. The aroma reminds me of the hospitals in Europe that routinely deny Roma medical care, while the ruby red color evokes visions of the blood of the scores of Roma exterminated during the Holocaust. The flavor really hits you - like a neo-Nazi who calls you a "dirty Gypsy" before breaking your face in. Next time, I’ll enjoy one of these beers with a hand rolled cigarette made with N*ggerhair tobacco, as brands that seek to turn race hate and racial slurs into profit should always be enjoyed together!

0.341 bottle. Clear, tea color and a medium, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, caramelized sugar, overripe apricot, and some delicate, earthy tones. Taste is malty, generally speaking, caramel, some grains, hoppy bitterness, delicate fruits. A medium body, an oily texture, a soft carbonation. Finish is bitterer, more hoppy, less grainy. Overall not a bad beer, not the most drinkable but pleasant.

Visual: Pours reddish brown, 1cm dissipating micro head, micro layer of retention, steady scattered singular streams, lots of suspended sediment. Nose: sweet caramel malts, hints of apricot. (lvl-7)-pungency Attack: fizzy-half creamy, incoming sweet malts Mid-palate: (lvl-8)-sweetness, (MAIN) alcoholic caramel malts, brown/cane sugar, hints of apricot Finish: dry, resiny hopped, lingering toffee malt, residual sweetness. Summary: Goes from too sweet to hopped bitter, not particularly digging the transitions. Also, seems unjustifiably heavy for just a 6%’er.

Thanks to my buddy Spoon for the 6pk. Pours a fair size frothy beige head and has a slightly murky amber appearance. Lively carbonation. Aromas of roasted malts, hints of toffee and earthy hops. Flavours are mostly sweet and malty with strong bitter citrus notes, hints of caramel and subtle spices. Has a nice bitterness on the palate. Medium bodied. Not bad.
