Easy drinking summer beer. A serviceable offering, with fast dissipating head on brown body. Malty, nutty.

thin bodied brown ale. pours with almost no head retention whatsoever. buttery (diacetyl) aroma and mouthfeel. a number of things could make this beer better. it could be a lot more complex and without as much of the butterscotch flavor. i prefer my brown ales to be slightly roasted and have dark chocolate as opposed to just flat caramel malt sweetness.

Almost black, decent white head. Pretty typical brown ale, I suppose. Some chocolate, some nuttiness. Gets pretty sweet as it warms. Not really my thing...

Barreras (968) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - JUL 1, 2014
Pours a deep brown cola color. Aroma of dark roasted malt with a little sweetness. Taste is clean with a roasted malt flavor. This beer leaves a film on your tongue allowing its rich roasted flavor to last long after the swallow. A flavorful brown ale that is simple and easy drinking.

RedSox2004 (1229) - Pacific Palisades, California, USA - JUN 13, 2014
Pours a clear dark brown with a one-finger foamy tan head that settles to a delicate and leaves modest lace. Aromas of toasted malt, nuts, and hints of cocoa. Taste is similar, with a touch of earthiness to accentuate the malt and nuttiness. Light to medium body, low carbonation, prickly mouthfeel and a slight bitterness in the finish.

Soil and peanut nose. Clear brown, thin head. Dry wood flavor, pecan impression. Medium body.

Bottle. Left by someone from the last tasting. Probably Drake, knowing him. Deep brown with a small head. Nutella and some necco wafer. Nuts. Weird tomato accent. The taste is pretty anonymous. Red apple and some chocolate powder. Little else. A bit thin, cardboard. Meh.

BeerGolem (664) - Quebec, CANADA - MAY 27, 2014
Sample on tap at Craft Beer Market (Vancouver). Pours dark auburn with beige head and no lacing. Aroma: nuts and roasted malt. Too subtle. Not much taste either. Distant hints of fruits. Watery texture. In sum, nothing really worthy here.

Braudog (5627) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - MAY 20, 2014
Bottle. Deep, ruby red, virtually opaque. The head is thin and giving, but firm. This is a quite easy-to-drink brew ... quite unoffending in any way. The base is a slightly caramel-tinged biscuit, with a hazelnut twist. Good job. (#5517, 5/20/2014)
