2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bomber. Starts clear darker brown copper, fading tan foam. Aroma of spicy rye and sweet malt. Taste is mostly earthy spicy rye and sweet toasty toffee malt, some herbal sub-alpine coniferous notes. Average carbonation, medium bodied, moderately hopped. Ends murky and muddled with a slight hint of citrus. An odd duck. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Had to try it. Muddy chestnut...a little too brown. Nice thick head. Hoppy aroma, light citrus and pine. Spicy, ok this is a vaguely hoppy, slightly berryish fruity yeasty ale. I get a little juniper (berry?) but standard ale yeast. This is no sahti.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours deep brown, with some head developing. Smells of malt. Medium body with some creaminess. Tastes of malt, burned toast, pine, and juniper berries. This was my first introduction to sahti style.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Great seasonal, very nice change of pace. Very light carbonation, well balanced flavours, liquid banana bread and toffee, without being sweet.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Hazy dark mahogany color, with creamy head. Malty brew, caramelly, slightly herbal, perfumy, with correct bitterness,. A good Ale, between American and Belgian; not a true Sahti, but maybe it’s better this way.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Visual: Pours hazy caramel brown with a smallish creamy head, thin layer of micro bubbly retention, a bit of lacing, several very slow streams.
Nose: caramel malts, sweet & tangy juniper berries, pine. (8/10)-aromatic strength.
Attack: creamy-silky mouthfeel, incoming berry sweetness
Mid-palate: (7/10)-fruity sweetness, (MAIN) fruity juniper berries, caramel malts, (HINT) banana
Finish: soft hoppy bitterness, malty bittersweet finish.
Summary: A nice beer with in a distinctive style. Decent depth a balance for a seasonal beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours dark brown with a one finger tan head. Smells like a pine forest floor - in a nice way! Juniper can be detected on the tongue. The beer equivalent of home made whole grain bread. Complex flavours. Worth trying.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. This is my first sahti, so take this review with a grain of salt. Pours translucent deep copper, lasting off-white head. Nose is spicy rye, pine, earthy/herbal hops, juniper in the background. Flavour has a solid malt/rye backbone like a hoppy American Strong Ale, with the pine earth and thankfully juniper in the background. Really liked this. Great recipe, well made. Want it on tap.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rusty brown with a fluffy white head. Aroma is juniper, spice, rye. Taste is heavily spicy rye, easy on the juniper thankfully, some fruitiness and fruity hops. Nice stuff.
