Between raiding and conquering, the Vikings worked up quite a thirst. This traditional Finnish beer is strong, unfiltered and made with rye, barley and juniper berries. We decided to compliment ours with Chinook and Simcoe hops for an added piney flavour.

Drinking from a 650 cl bottle. In the aroma berries, banana, caramel. The clear red beer has a medium off-white head. In the taste some smoke, red berries, caramel. Medium carbonated.

Bottle. Brown pour with no head. Malty aromas, no real fruit tones. Better than your average Amber with rye and berries. Not a traditional sahti but come on; close enough.

330. Thanks, A! Pours a murky dark brown with a loose white head that falls away almost immediately. Bright piney nose, but smells like actual sappy pine needles, not the sweet pine freshener effect you get from hops. Smells very plant-like. Lots of chamomile and herbal tea as well. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Dark caramel, pine needles, chamomile, and herbal tea, kinda minty, on the mid palate. Earthy herbal finish.

In bottle (advent calendar); this one was interesting ... noticed some berry along with the pine notes. First few sips were a little bitter though as it warmed was much nicer, some yet earthy. Overall, an interesting beer and one of their better offerings

Bottle, from the advent calendar. Dark orange-amber, very hazy, with a medium off white head. Sweet aroma of floral pine and citrus. Sweet caramel, light pine and citrus, earthy and herbal undertones become more prominent as the beer warms. Very tasty though.

Pours a semi transparent copper with a small off white head that quickly shrinks and leaves a bit of lace. Aroma is caramel malts, spicy rye, toffee, bready notes, and mild citrus/piney hops. Flavour is caramel, pine, resin, citrus, grapefruit, medium bitterness, faint alcohol, and spicy rye.

Pours a hazy dark amber with a small tan head that leaves spotty lacing. Aroma of caramel, spicy rye malts and some piney and citrus hops. Taste is a bitter slo the malt base with some piney hop bitterness notes... Overall this is a medium full bodied beer that’s pretty complex and smooth.

resin, spruce, fizzy appearance, restrained aroma. Very carbonated fizzy feel in the mouth followed by quite resinous bitter finish. Not my taste.

Pours a hazy dark amber, bubbly tan head with some lacing. Aroma of caramel, pine, molasses, and straw. Taste is sweet and earthy, finishing with a light piney bitterness. Full bodied, thick, slightly sticky and creamy, average carbonation. Quite nice.
