3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a lovely clear deep reddish bronze with creamy foam. Aroma is lots of caramel, toffee, molasses, slight tobacco. Taste adds lots of caramel again, with some preserved fruit added. Salt is there. It’s principally sweet, as you’d expect, but something about it (partial credit to the salt no doubt) gives it a ’savoury’ balance so it doesn’t get cloying.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Rich malty flavour combined with great salted caramel dance over the tongue, hops are very mild and that is what makes this such a great beer. Well balanced with quite a distinct nose, not a lot of head and just the right amount of carbonation for a silky smooth mouthfeel.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Dark amber color with red hue; small creamy head. Some aroma of caramel and fudge. Good body structure, round mouthfeel, good flavor of dark caramel some fudge, light saltiness.
Salted butter caramel is a specialty of Brittany; indeed this beer reminds a bit of that caramel. Pleasant.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep copper hue topped with a quickly receding, foamy off-white head. Sweet, caramelized malts in the nose are offset by a unique brininess. Full-on Scotch ale character in the flavor, rich malts come through and gradually fade into a slightly salty and caramel toffee finish. Smooth and full-bodied on the palate, it is easy drinking and takes the style in a new direction.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy dark copper colour with an off white average head dissipating to a medium sized ring around the glass. Aromas of salt water, sweet, caramel(Not to be confused with diacytal). Flavours are salty, sweet, caramel, roasted malt, some nuttiness, quite smooth being a 7.5 abv beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a nice off white ring that leaves some good lacing. Aroma is a nice sweet caramel with a good amount of sea salt sourness. Taste is caramel & sea salt with some bready cereal. Very well balanced for 7.5 points. Love the addition of the caramel and salt Walter but staying true to the scotch style.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a beautiful orangey amber with a small beige head. Aroma of big syrupy caramel malts and not much else - very pleasant nose though. Flavour of salted caramel--very true to the name--, with corn syrup and caramel malts. ABV is well-hidden, and the flavour profile is well-constructed. Solid stuff.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tried this at a tasting today and had to take a bottle home for an in-depth review. Pours a nice deep ruby, two fingers of frothy off-white head that lingers. Aroma reminds me immediately of those awesome hard caramels in the orange wrappers they used to give out at Hallowe’en. Tasting - tastes a lot like those caramels, nice sweet malt, a tiny bit of breadiness, a hint of salt, though I don’t know if that is just because it says it on the bottle or there actually is a bit of salt in here. Nice rich mouthfeel, lingering taste. A very good offering.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Hazy copper, golden highlights, lacy off-white head. Sweet butterscotch malt, fruity nuances. A little sweet and simple, but not bad. No peat or smoke at all, but that’s a non-issue for me. I had this after Eel River Porter, and maybe that was a mistake because the sweetness really seemed amped up in this brew. I don’t know. it was good, but didn’t blow me away.
