We put the kettle on for a long boil and this Scottish wee heavy is what we got. Rich Caramel is complemented by sea salt for a complex intense flavour. Another? Aye

650ml brown bottle. Golden brown colour, some haze. Fat white head, good creamy bead and great lacing in the glass. Caramel nose. Taste has caramel sweetness, thick toffee, light peanut, slight salty note. Some grain in the finish, lighter caramel notes. Medium body, fine carbonation. No signs of any alcohol in this brew. Doesn’t hit the mark for me, the sweetness/richness of the caramel toffee thing gets tiring and doesn’t make it easy to drink.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2016 So you think B.C. will do it now that D.V. has waxed his wife? Haven’t seen this in ages, not sure yet. HEad is okay on this thing, dark copper body, aroma of that bad dark lager you got from the guy in front of the liquor store when you were 16. When getting shitfaced was considered cultural, when the Railway Club was still a thing, instead of another Asian condo development. But that’s Vancouver and that’s why we drink, eh? This is like sucking down a liquified bag of Christmas chocolates from Purdy’s holee wow this is sweet, like Oakridge mall’s chocolate store and liquor store put all their stock in a blender and sold the result in bottles. Super cloying, maybe good for a dark dreary Vancouver winter night but this is harsh stuff that needs serious sipping to appreciate.

Can at home. Was hoping for better from my homeland. The sweetness of the scotch ale somewhat tempered by subtle salty notes. Changed a lot as it warmed up and had a strange metallic finish. Bread notes, caramel and dried fruit. Somewhat thin bodied. Average.
