3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
650ml bottle pours brown in color with a finger and a half of off-white head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is dominated by caramel. Taste is caramel malty sweetness with a mild citrus and herbal bitterness. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. An interesting interpretation of the style and definitely worth a try.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber. Pours a medium chestnut brown, ample off-white head, decent retention and lacing. Nose is pumpernickel toast and a generous helping of maltiness. Mouth is huge burnt caramelly toffee malt with some dried dates and figs along for the ride, finishes drier than it begins with a hint of salt at the finish. Slightly above average. O Canada.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle poured into a Belgian snifter. Bottle courtesy of Richard and Better Beer Authority for a live Blind Taste Test. Clear amber/copper color with a small amount of off-white to slightly yellowish head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, dark fruit. Tastes of dark fruit, caramel, toffee, candied and brown sugar. Medium body with a dry finish. Medium carbonation, syrupy mouthfeel. Fairly smooth. Having it blind I was guessing a barleywine around 7-8%.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice smoked malt earthy aroma. Pours light brown with a minimal ring of tan head. Big malty flavors dominate but are tempered by some British hops bitterness. Ends mellow, smoky and long.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Shared bomber, poured to snifters, showing a hazed, copper color, with a modest layer of off white head foam, and dots & dashes of lacing. The aroma was light grain, malt, and extremely sweet, and caramelized. A very dessert-like nose. A little less than medium bodied, with soft carbonation, the taste offered low bitterness, hints of brine & peat toward the finish, and hidden alcohol. Not wee-heavy, but a tasty treat.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
650 ml. pours clear darkish copper with a creamy disc of foam on top. Nose is dark toffee with bits of earthy orange and sourish apple. Tastes of earthy orange toffee, toasted walnut, sourish berry and apple. Some late notes of cocoa and wooden hops. The saltiness doesn’t show up at first, but definitely sticks around once it appears. Medium-heavy body has a medium-high but smooth carbonation. Very nice balancing act with the light touches of roast, salt and acidity battling just enough to check the big malts.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear amber with a one-finger off-white head that dissipated quickly to a thin film and left minimal lace. Faint aromas of toffee, caramel and vanilla. Taste is dominated by sweetness of aforementioned caramel with toffee and vanilla making a strong presence. Medium body, low carbonation, creamy mouthfeel and a lingering sweetness in the finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a brown carmel color with a caramel and molasses flavor. Taste is sweet malt with a small hoppy aftertaste. The sea salt mixture is evident throughout the beer and it lingers on the palate. A scotch flavor enhances the alcohol but is minimized by the sweetness of the caramel. Overall a decent beer for the style.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Reddish-copper caramel color, there’s little to no head here. True to its name, the beer gives off a meaty caramel aroma. The beer does have an interesting salty hint in the background, as if it were made with slightly desalinated sea water. It’s a unique twist worth it’s salt (ha!). Else, a sturdy caramel-heavy beer. 3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle and served in my thistle: Pours a nice amber with a lasting head. Plenty of caramel candy overtones and a bit of corn. The salt is very much a background player sadly, faint dark fruit... some plastic notes too. Left disappointed.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from 22oz bottle to pint glass. Head is simple and creamy but dissipates soon after poured with some lacing. The caramel is there but not overbearing. I was surprised that it was not sweeter, pleased that it was not sweeter I should say. The salt on the finish cleared the palate. Munching on roasted salted peanuts made this beer an amazing break to the day.
