N2 version: Charred oak nose. Mahogany, thin creamy tan head. Sweet coffee, mulberries, and raisins. Full body, smooth and creamy. Maybe a bit too sweet, but quite enjoyable if only having one pint.

Bottle. Solid creamy and sweet stout with a big roasted barley. Milk chocolate and good roasted malt pair well and just a touch of lactose gives this a good sessionable sweetness. overall, this is a solid session stout. A easy drinker.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
341 ml bottle from a six-pack from Sobeys Liquor outlet, served in a Guinness Draught-labeled nonic pint glass, yet another thrift store discovery. Pours a rich, deep chestnut brown with a puffy, mocha-brown cap that leaves a few lace rings. The aroma is somewhat savory and most definitely toasty, while the flavor strikes a careful balance of milky sweetness and roasted savoriness, with a gentle current of cocoa throughout. Smooth, creamy drinking, a touch chewy, and the flavor diminishes easily and pleasantly with each sip. Of course, being a sweet stout, this wouldn’t put anyone’s tastebuds in a twist - it’s a style that’s so innately gentle, I found it a bit difficult to find descriptors other than "toasty, sweet, and creamy". Nonetheless, it’s a friendly new beer experience; a very relaxed and pleasant winter beverage.
