COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pardál Světlé Výčepní Pivo 9.7°
Traditionally, the strength and beauty of the Czech brewing industry lay in the wide variety and uniqueness of its product range. Budweiser Budvar, N.C. decided to go against this trend and enrich the Czech beer culture with a beer of a new, original flavour particularly suitable for the typical Czech beer consumers. Therefore the brewery invited the real consumers, i.e. those who are fond of beer and have experience in its consumption, to take part in developing it. For several months, the aroma, colour and flavour were being tuned in the brewery. Combining traditional brewing skills with the experience of Budweiser Budvar’s brewers and challenging ideas of many beer connoisseurs resulted in the creating of the present Czech beer idol – “Pardál” beer, the perfect beer for sharp and full bitter flavoured beer lovers. The true beer for groups of friends who can label it : “It’s one of us!”

500ml bottle from Morrisons - Looks really good with the crystal clear yellow body, fluffy white head, and dancing carbonation. After that it is pretty much just a bog-standard lager, albeit a decent one. But... for a quid a bottle, what can you say?

Bottle. Pale malt and herbal hop aroma, slightly watery taste with a medium bitterness. Malty and hoppy flavour. Rather nice.

Green half-litre bottle from my local Morrisons Supermarket: BBD 18 Sep 14, poured into two Veltins Pilsner badged glasses on 2 Nov 13. Looked like almost every other Czech lager/pilsner on earth: golden, clear and bright. Usual no show of a lasting head too. Gets my regular score of 3 for an odourless pilsner/lager: although this did have a slight metallic hint with a grass stain on it. The taste was neither here nor there: grains rule overall, some sweetness at first, then a dry hop finish ensues. Refreshing enough, but not the best lager/pilsner in the world, that’s for sure.

Bottle. Bought from Morrisons at Bilston. Bronze with a malty aroma. Maltiness dominates producing a flavour that sems stronger than its real strength. A good Czech style lager.

rauchbier (3634) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - OCT 24, 2013
Bottle, from Morrisons Scunthorpe. Deep gold, thin but lasting white head and gentle condition. Solidly grassy hops initially in the nose with a background of delicate honeyed malty sweetness, quite dry in the mouth with a persistent hop note and low maltiness, lingering restrained hop bitterness in the finish, very drinkable for its strength.

500ml bottle from Morrisons, Ayr - clear golden, good foamy white head, pale malty, corn aroma, no lacing, very bland, bitter for a lager

500ml bottle from mr_h. Rich golden yellow, big foamy head. Resin corn malt aroma. Dry resin grain flavour. Bland & insipid. Not a good lager.

Bottle from morrisons. Golden Orange/yellow beer with medium frothy head. Aroma of malts and perfume. Taste is floral, cereal and some soft perfume. Drinkable at best.

500ml bottle from Morrisons (Ł1.99):
Part sweet, part bitter aroma that wasn’t very pleasant at all and contained some malts with a basic hop aroma on top. There was some bread and corn with a bit of barely towards the end too.
Clear & light amber coloured with a thin, foamy white head that turns soapy lacing quickly.
Bitter & quite a cheap tasting beer with some grassy hops and bitter malts upfront with a hint of butterscotch or vanilla but quite a light one. There is a strange sweetness that quickly turns bitter half way through and is coupled with a slightly skunky taste. The beer seems cheap and a little stale.
Light bodied and quite weak with light carbonation and a flat taste that has touches of citrus but still makes a pretty poor beer on the palate with a bitter taste that lingers for far too long.

A rather poor beer from the outset and a sorry excuse for a Czech lager. The taste was overly bitter and seemed stale with a taste that seemed very slightly off. The beer definitely tasted cheap and it was a struggle to finish the bottle.

50cl bottle from Morrisons. Amber with a soapy white head; grassy aroma; soft grainy body; and some leafy bitterness before a predominantly malty finish. Rather basic, but then it’s only Ł1 a bottle, so I wasn’t expecting much.
