Bottle, nice frothy head on this one. Dried plums, roast, and some musty, earthy old spice note. The flavour is devoid of this cheap deodorant note, instead it is akin to sweet, chocolate coated prunes. Creamy and full mouthfeel. Very good.

05/08 A 0.5 l bottle from Csak a jo sör, Budapest. It poured dark brown body with quite a big brownish head atop. Fine coffee, red brick and some acidic, licorice aroma. Flavor was more inclined to the sweet side, with chocolate and caramel besides coffee and touch of milk and wood. Some bitterness showed of these roasted malts as well, rounding it nicely. Full bodied with long, pleasantly bittersweet finish. Being a fan of the style I liked this beer even more.

Tap at Czech Beer Festival, Budapest. Dark colour with light brown head. Roasty aroma. Taste is sweet, reminds me of some fruity liqueur. Lightly bitter finish with hints of herbs. Strong beer, but alcohol is hardly noticeable. It’s the first baltic porter i have ever tasted, so i cannot compare it to other beers of this style, but a very good overall experience. I recommend it.

Impavidus (63) - Budapest, HUNGARY - APR 2, 2013
UPDATED: JUN 21, 2014 bottle
Dark, clear, reddish mahogany color with a big off-white head.
The aroma is sweet, of malt, caramel and chestnut honey with a good balance of mellow caramel and burnt sugar, giving the right bitterness.
The final has some burnt sugar and roasted nuts, It finishes with a roasty bitterness that lasts and lasts.
Sirupy oil body, complex and unique brew, moderate carbonate.
Great baltic porter beer. I recommend

Bottle - Beige cream head. Opaque, near black body. Sweet and roasted malt aroma with prunes and dark bread. Sweet dark bread is dominating the flavor as well. A caramel note and suggestions of dark dried fruits. Hops not included. Alcohol well masked. Almost full-bodied. Sweet malty ending
