COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Parish Dr. Hoptagon is a badass Black IPA. Pleasantly offensive, this serum is bursting with bitter hops and black roasted malts. If you prefer weak, yellow beer or rainbow pooping unicorns, put this bottle down and slowly back away. Don’t question why this beer is bottle-conditioned. It’s just better that way.

Black pour with a tan head. The aroma is full of black malt with some light pine notes thrown in. The flavor is more IPA like. I get some pine and a hint of orange as well as some very light chocolate and roasted malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

This was an odd one. Note really black, and very malty. Seemed like a hoppy amber, to be honest. Lots caramel and molasses. Seemed like an almost decadent sweetness. Enjoyable, but odd.

This is an amazing beer, pours a rich black color with an off white head, smells of hops and maltyness with a hint of smoakyness. The taste is hop forward followed by some malt sweetness and the finish is a bit of smoakyness.

Pours black with a thick, meringue head, significant lacing, and a very hoppy nose. Malty intro with a medium-carbonated mouthfeel, followed by a floral, molasses, dark roast coffee finish.

Bottle. Pours deep, dark brown with thick frothy tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, earthy and spicy malts, chocolate, raisins, fig, and faint caramel. Flavor is dry roast malts, chocolate, earthy hop bitterness, and light ash; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

From a bottle. Pours very dark brown with a super thick head. Creamy beige, foamy frothy, with huge bubbles on the side. Tastes malty, bready, like grains, light coffee, light chocolate. Smells sweet, nutty, like chocolate and syrup.

Bottle courtesy of sonnycheeba, thanks Tim! Pours the color of unicorn poope without the rainbow, massive light poop-colored ice cream cone head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pleasant pine and inoffensive brownies. Taste is aggressively hopped and roasty. Very tasty. Not poopy or rainbowy at all.

Aroma is roast and chocolate malt, coffee, dank and pine hops with plums and prunes. Flavor is dark bitter malt, moderate hops and bitterness, dark fruits and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Appearance: beer is pitch black, with a strong light behind it you can see a very nice red color, appears to be clear, pours with a large tan head that is very dense Aroma: strong hop citrus, also pine, grass, strong coffee as well, chocolate, dark roast, very complex Taste: coffee is probably predominate but a strong hop presence up front as well, hops are grass and pine, citrus, can't deny the chocolate is there Palate: heavy mouthfeel, bitter and coffee aftertaste, average carbonation Overall: my first black ipa, very complex, strong hop presence and also strong dark roasted malt presence, very complex aroma as well. Like a porter and ipa mixed together ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
