ebrowner88 (113), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Feb 24, 2008 Good beer for playing cards at Ramstein, AFB. Never got around to pouring one into a glass. Wish I had been more of a critic back then. Love the ceramic top! This german brew will mess you up. Pirminate me baby! IPA_Lieber (2), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA does not count Nov 6, 2006 I was stationed in Augburg German from 1989-91. We used to go Pirmisans (sp) regularly and when we did we drank only this. I think it is one of the better Hellesbocks around. Been years since I have had one but I know I loved them back in. Sledge Jr (2720), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Feb 28, 2004 A buddy in the Airforce brought me back a green plastic "milk crate" of 0.5L deposit bottles. LOVE this beer. Great foamy head, must have some wheat in it (?). Very light color for a doppelbock, rich golden. Malty tongue, yet not heavy. Very german yeasty flavor. Yes, they're great bottles to homebrew in! JoeM500 (1877), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA Oct 18, 2002 A wonderful reminder of my military years spent in Germany. Dark-yellow and a bit hazy. Not great malt flavor, but enough to score decently. Alcohol is apparent in the aftertaste. We used to buy these by the case in the 500ml bottles, drink until obliterated, and try to score with the local chicks. We often woke up in the dorms next to the most amazingly hot chicks. Yeah right!, Don’t believe that one!!! Luckily my friends at home never saw some of the homelies that I ended up with. But after 8-10 "perminators" even the last big girl in the bar looked like Miss Germany!!! mike mcneil (640), St Augustine, Florida, USA Oct 30, 2000 A decent bock beer, not great. Deep gold color; very rich and sweet malt nose which seems to back down on first sip; no off flavors, just a slight bit restrained in general for a bock.
