An easy drinking Belgian-style ale, our Bridge Builder Blonde has a wheat flavored backbone from the malt, tempered with hints of clove, banana and pear. The name is an homage to the many immigrants who constructed the unique arched stone bridges all along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Growler... RBWG 2013... Pours lightly hazed and light yellow with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma is bursting at-the-seams with spiciness – overbearing notes of clove and coriander. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. The flavor is mildly sweet and loaded with clove spiciness. Lengthy, spicy finish. I could have lived without that overbearing, clove-like phenol. I’m no fan of that. Growler courtesy of ygtbsm94!

Growler during RBWG. Pours a cloudy gold with small white head that lasts. The aroma is fruity malt, dough, clove. Medium mouth with doughy malt, strong Belgian yeast, light bitterness, good.

Pours hazy golden and has a faint aroma of spices. Taste is a little under carbonated and seemed a little umbalanced. Lots of sweet banana and spice flavor, but somehow a little watery at the same time.

Total Wine, Fairfax twelve ounce: Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is bready with slight fruit. This does not seem like a belgian ale to me. Seemed more like an english blinde. Meh.

Golden color with a thin white head. Spices and Belgian yeast aroma. Taste similar to aroma. Nothing special, taste like a weak Belgian Ale. OK Beer

Draft at the source. Hazy yellow color. Aroma of straw and light spice. Taste has mixed spice and rising white bread dough, maybe subtle citrus. Decent.

12 oz bottle. (Mr. Bill’s) Roanoke, VA.
Slightly hazy golden colour with a small white head. Belgian yeast, bready malt, sweetness, mild hops and some spices in the aroma. Not bad. The flavour is a bit more straight forward with yeast, mild bitterness, some sweetness and malt.

12 oz. Pours a cloudy orange-golden with a lasting film of cream on top. Nose is toast, caramel, banana, orange, peach and spicy dry grass. Tastes of spicy dry yeast, peach, caramel, wheat toast and a touch of banana. Light-medium body has a nice balance.

Blonde golden coloured body with the slightest haze and a thin, one centimetre off-white head. Aroma of very light malt, some yeast and rice notes and a little floral hoppiness - not much though. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong malt flavour with some subdued sweetness, a hint of cardboard and staleness and a little hop touch at the end. Aftertaste shows some nice sweetness from honey and fruit and very little else aside from the malt. Overall, a decent light beer with an okay profile, but no real complexity and depth. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Arrowine in Arlington, Virginia after a hockey game on 13-November-2013 - Thanks Kev!
