4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at The Scratch. Great ipa with loads of pine needle aromas with some floral hop aromas also in the mix. Full in the mouth and flavour lingers on the palate.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Heres an IPA which is not overly complex, yet very enjoyable. Rigger from the brewery. Pour is deep amber gold, with a little head which gives good lacing. Aromas are resiney piney hops, floral and honey. Quite full bodied, a touch chewy even, not overwhelming hoppy in the middle, good malt backbone with a rising intensity of bitterness in the finish. Quite well balanced and very drinkable.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From tap at The Taphaus, Wellington. Nice lemony hop on the nose, round, rich and bitter in the mouth. Lingeringly lovely aftertaste. A really well balanced IPA, no one element driving out the other, and delivers the hops without killing the tastebuds. Great for a warm sunny afternoon.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Strong floral flavour and also vegetive rhubarb-like character, a little spice - black pepper or cinnamon. Overwhelmingly floral. Malt flavour is difficult to find, so the beer is a bit unbalanced for me. Quite dry. Would prefer more sweetness from a bigger malt character, and Iíd like to know what hop profile is involved as Iím struggling to recognise the hop aroma and no sign of dry hopping so I suspect (as the name suggests) the majority of hops are towards the start of the boil. On the hop aroma thing Iím really wondering whatís involved because itís very different to your regular hoppy ale, again very floral.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap @ Galbraithís (09/11). Clear, light amber pour with a short white soapy head leaving sparse lace. Pleasing pine and fruity hop nose. Medium body and carbonation. Resin, pineapple, toast and tea. Medium grapefruit finish. Great balance for an APA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
amber brown color. Big fresh hoppy nose. Small dollop of butterscotch in the mouth with apricots, citrus and apples. Moderate bitter finish. Well balanced. More of an extra pale ale, than an ipa. Very enjoyable.
