An aggressive, tropical NZ hopped aroma gives way to the rich, copper coloured malt base and a huge lingering bitterness to finish. In an ode to its ancestors, we’ve used all English malts in the grist and a bold English bittering hop in the boil.

I like it when the beer delivers what it states on the bottle its going to deliver. The beer was bitter and because of this I found it great and refreshing. Lacked a little in the flavour and aroma department but I really liked it regardless.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a clear copper with a light beige head that lasts throughout. Terrific lacing. Mango, pineapple and papaya with some catpiss all over the nose. Good balance with some caramel malt flavor along with more tropical fruit and grapefruit pith on the palate. As it warms some orange comes out as well. Quite bitter on the palate. Long, lingering dry and bitter finish with some light orange gelato zing as well. Fantastic.

Bottle from CBB. L: Pours a brownish amber, with a small beige head and a little lacing. S: strong aromatic hop presence, pine, mango, citrus, and a caramel sweetness. T: delicious. Has a strong malt backbone and a building bitterness, which balances nice with the pine and fruity notes. F: slightly chewy from the malt, a good body and rolls across the palate nicely. Plenty of bitterness for hop heads. O: a strong malt body, not just relying on surface smells and flavours but providing a solid drinking experience.

Pineapple, lychee, mango with a smooth citrus base. A little heavier in the body than a WCIPA, but less sweet, so higher drink ability. A superb beer. Enjoyed this more than the 8 wired Supercharger that followed, which is no slouch.

Had at The Birmingham Hotel in Melbourne, on tap. Not a big fan of IPA but loved it.

UPDATED: JUN 29, 2015 Aroma of citrus, tropical fruit and grass, flowing into a broad and complex bitterness that lasts long after the final drop. Slightly cloudy. A strong head robbed it of a little aroma, but overall very enjoyable.

Pours a clear amber with persistent white head. Aromas of tropical fruits, but lighter than I would like. Flavour is of fruity hops and yeast esters. Biscuity malts and a clean, crisp, intense bitterness in the finish that lasts forever. The medium light body makes it more than drinkable.

Bottle at Beer Station, Xiamen on 28 March. Pours hazy golden brown with a white head. Aroma of pine and citrus. Bitter finish. This was the last one the head and from the shelf rather than the fridge so a bit colder might have done it some good.
