COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A citrusy NZ hopped aroma featuring a hint of roasted malt is supported by full-bodied, red coloured malt base and a pleasant NZ hopped bitterness to round off. A big, malty red ale uplifted with a generous amount of hops.

It really tastes more like an IPA to me, maybe let it warm in your hand for a while to let the malt flavours come through.

Pours dark red with some beige, fine head. Nose is grapefruit peel, pineapple, grass, slight toffee. Flavor is quite hop forward. Lots of grapefruit peel, pine resin, bit of passionfruit, toffee, bread. Finish is lots of bitter grapefruit, slight sweetness. Carbonation is a touch on the low side, but I think it works well with the medium to heavy body. Not bad.

A nice amber ale. Strong hop flavours getting into IPA territory. Tasting at Plonk.

Bottle from Zesty Edibles. Poured a nice creamy head and a deep red almost dark amber colour. Quite malty but not overwhelming with tastes of roast coffee and a nice bitter finish on the palate. Sadly I didnít find this overly hoppy, but still nice all the same. Enjoyed. Good beer.

Very nice beer , would have like more of a caramel note like most other red ales on the market, still a very good ale

The aroma starts out with a rather basic caramel and red apple maltiness before developing light touches of fennel and black pepper, and itís not long before the simple cara malt character blossoms into something more like seed bread toasted baguette... luscious carbonation and soft malt texture again are the highlight, something that ParrotDog seems to do well even in beers with unappealing flavor profiles. Semi-sweet, toasty, bready, strongly bitter with medium acidity, good malt attenuation, just enough sugar left over to provide some heft to the body without being overly sweet and chewy... carbonation and sweetness and acid all well matched, and itís quite aromatic as well. On first pass itís a basic amber ale but with time it comes together well. Talented brewing taking place in Wellington.

Very fruity hops aroma, amber/red colour and lasting white head. Mild citrus flavours and bitter aftertaste. Fruitier than I expected but not bad at all, give it a try.

Draft. At first sight it seems like a good one but after a few sips it?s a bit disapointing. The flavours, the body, it?s in there somewhere, But not really convincing.... Though it?s quote ok, no worries, you can order this.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2013 Slowbeer (15-Nov-13) Light fruit hop caramel aroma. Red brown colour, good head and suds lacing. Lovely floral fruit and caramel malt flavour. Great floral spice fruit finish and tangy fruit floral aftertaste. Just a great balance of flavours and finish.
