Bottle from the brewery brought home from London and shared with Jackson. Pours hazy toffee amber with no head. Nose immediately produces Calvados - super sweet and sticky toffee apple with mild spice and rich honey. Taste is sticky and sweet like a dessert with loads and loads of apple, toffee, a touch of spice and cinnamon. The heat from the alcohol is definitely present but in a warming way without being too harsh. Sweet stuff but I like it

Bottle, thnx to MannyGoldberg. Pours a clear amber beer with a big off white head on top. Aroma has apple, bourbon, caramel and sugar. Flavor is very sweet, fruity with loads of bourbon and wood flavors. Nice, full complex flavors and full body. Slight thin mouthfeel, long sweet, light cloying finish. Very nice beer, good surprise.

Pours slightly hazy orange, a small head. Aroma has some bourbon touch, revealing that this has been barrel aged. Slight hint of alcohol. First sip really surprises with its intensity - there is alcohol, strong fruity caramel candy, giving way to barrel aged bourbon. Has quite strong carbonation fro a barleywine. Long lingering dry finish.

Too sticky sweet and one note for me. No great projection or melding of flavours. It’s a decent BW but probably needs more time.

330 ml bottle thanks to Ingo! Bottled 12/08/2013. Sampled on February 11, 2014.
Also marked "Barrel Aged Barley Wine".
Clear copper color, smallish white head. Sweet, oak, wood, fruity, alcohol scent. Sweet, wood, oak, alcohol taste. Warming. Sweet aftertaste. Fizzy mouthfeel, low bitterness.
Smell is to dominated by oak alnd alcohol, works much better in the taste. Mouthfeel is way to fizzy, detracts from the overall experience.

33cl bottle from the brewery. It pours a deep amber colour with a medium off white head. Aroma is quite sweet with toffee, caramel and some piney hops. Taste is sweet with caramel, honey, toffee and some citrusy piney bitterness. Medium silky body with soft carbonation. Quite sweet and good, with very few booze notes. Nice

Hazy amber with a white, lacy lasting, frothy head. Smells of alcohol, fruit, melon, fruit, and caramel. Medium to full oily body. Tastes of sweet toasted malt, with fruit, caramel, and a dry bitter cherry liquorish finish. Not bad. A bit of alcohol is noticeable. Not bad. I think I prefer the regular one.m

Bottle from the brewery, courtesy of and shared with Kermis. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is boozy alcohol with resin. The flavour is strong bitter light sweet with a smooth rich alcoholic sweet fruit malt palate. Medium to full bodied with flat carbonation.
