Thanks Hertie!! Pours a very light yellow with a slight haze and white cap. The nose is wood, wine. The taste is as it smells. The body is light with nice carbonation. An amazing 3.9% beer!

Wenig säuerlicher Antrunk mit zunehmend herben Noten. Trocken, dennoch süffig, geringfügig Kräuter, etwas langweilig. 8/9/11/8/9/8

330ml bottle from Cotteridge Wines. Pours pale, slightly hazy yellow. Light and bright flavours, the nuances of the wine really shining through with a touch of oily funk. Light citrus and fruity hops throughout. Not entirely sure the wine notes blend too well, but it’s refreshing and a grower.

Bottle. A clear, pale golden one with a white head leaving lacings. Rather citrusy aroma, pink grapefruit mostly, with some funky hints and a touch of wine. Peppery notes too. Pink grapefruit, some orange and funky notes and a little vinous hint in the flavor. Peaches too. Dry on the palate, with a nice carbonation. Perhaps lacking a little bit on bitterness, both in the end and initially, but overall it’s a very fine beer I would love to have as a summer drink. 140608

Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast, wood, peach, citrus, grape and white wine. Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter with a very dry fruity and slightly pepper finish. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Bottle at Craig’s. Funky winey nose, taste is very thin, dry toffee, sweet, hints of the barrel. Needs more body.

Garrold (1236) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 1, 2014
Bottle from Beermoth, Manchester. Hazy, green hued, straw colour. Thin, lasting, white head. Handsome. Mineral. Lemon pith. Oily herb, along the lines of rosemary. Taste is flinty dry. Light, soft carbonation. The wine barrel is only evident on the finish, but that’s ok with me. Like it.
