Editor’s note: It can be hard to detect which Grisette you’ve had as the label doesn’t indicate if it’s spiced or citrusy. This edition has an addition of citrus peel, and less wheat than the regular edition. The label artwork is blue/purple.

Bottle at home, thanks to Josh for picking this one up on my behalf, 28/06/13. Lightly hazed blonde with a big frothy white head. Looks top draw for the style! Nose is grass, yeast, light smoke, herbal, earthy, farmyard, hint of manure, citrus. Taste comprises lemon rind, grass, straw, farmyard, herbal qualities, citrus, light sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy finish. A solid saison.

330 ml bottle.
Pours a clear pale light yellow colour with a large foamy head. Aroma of wet earth, citrus and fern. Flavour of light sweet malts, strong tart citrus, herbs, hay and some maltiness. Musty yeastiness as well. Light bodied, high carbonation and a citrusy, tart, hayish finish. Good, although not as refreshing as it should be.

Sampled @ Haand 2013. Hazy pale orange body with a white head. Mild, but pleasant aroma of citric fruit and spicy yeast. Flavor is refreshing fruity, a tad bit more citric in flavor. Not to different from the regular Grisette, but I thing I found this one just a bit more pleasant in flavor. Medium body and a light, pleasant aftertaste. Nice Saison all the way.

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2013 Bottle from Borough Wines [Wilton Way]. Pours hazy yellow with a big, fluffy white head which sits around for the length of the beer. Damn fine looking stuff. Nose is subtle spice, lemon rind, dough, coriander, touch of pepper and orange. Complex and refreshing in both smell and taste. Taste is heavy lemon and zest with subtle spices up front. Lemon cake in there on the finish. Quite peppery and zesty. Damn easy drinking. On the carbonated side of things but works for the drinkability of the beer. Bitterness right on the finish and quite lengthy. Holy crap this is good shit! My rating is probably a little higher than normal considering it’s about 30 degrees today and this is a perfect hot weather beer
